Marvel Rivals Debuts PvE Zombies Mode on October 23rd

Marvel Rivals has suddenly announced a new PvE mode. Based on the recently released Marvel Zombies animated series, this mode pits Blade, Magik, Punisher, Thor, and Jeff against hordes of undead and eventually a zombie boss. Each of the five will also receive special powers to deal with the undead.

Released on October 23rd, this mode brings Marvel Rivals the PvE mode that many fans have been requesting since launch. This is a collaboration with the Marvel Animation team aimed at increasing the number of players for the game and promoting the Disney+ series. Not much is known about this mode at this time.

Marvel Rivals PvE Mode Announced

In Marvel Rivals' PvE mode, Thor is fighting hordes of zombies.

This new mode was announced just a few minutes ago by Marvel Games Executive Producer Danny Koo and Marvel's Head of Streaming, TV, and Animation Brad Winderbaum. As Koo mentioned, each hero will have special abilities, such as Blade with bouncing Moonblades, Thor with his constantly awakened state, and Magik's Darkchild mode, which is unlimited.

As you fight your way through endless hordes, you'll eventually have to fight Zombie Namor and Queen of the Dead Scarlet Witch. It's unclear how these boss fights will play out, but it's clear that players will need to work together to prevent the entire planet from becoming infected.

The Marvel Zombies PvE mode launches next week, which may add more characters to the roster. Not to mention new skins, rewards, and zombie villains to deal with. In the trailer we only saw the grunts of zombies, but we may encounter more powerful enemies when it's released.

It's unclear if the mod will tie into the show, as Thor and Blade have already appeared. This PvE mode will probably bring back tons of players. Because fans of hero shooters are still burned by the way Overwatch 2 handles its promised PvE mode.
