How to Complete the Traxus Contract Introduction in Marathon

Players can join the Traxus Faction in Marathon by completing priority contracts that take them to Dire Marsh. Here are all the steps you need to follow:

Obtain a self-deleting data drive from Hauler's second floor.

  1. Go to Perimeter and go west to Hauler.

  2. Enter the second floor via the stairs.

  3. The self-deleting data drive is in a locker by the west wall.

Deliver data drives to DCON within time limit

  1. When you use a self-wiping data drive, you are given a three-minute timer to hand it over to DCON.

  2. Open the map and look for the DCON icon.

  3. There are about four in each corner of the map, the closest one being to the north of the North Array.

  4. Interact with DCON and drag and drop self-wiping data drives from your inventory into the DCON inventory.

For this step, you'll need to head to Hauler, a POI just west of you after entering the Perimeter map. Once you get here, you'll find a server room on the west wall of the second floor with a locker with a self-erasing data drive.

As soon as you pick it up, a 3-minute timer starts. If the timer fails, it means you have to try the next match. Therefore, you should only select self-wiping data drives when DCON appears on the map. Simply bring your auto-wipe data drive to DCON.

You don't need to banish, but you should complete this all in one run.

Summon the transport drone through the second floor terminal in the bird pond.

  1. Launch the Dire Marsh map and go to Algae Ponds in the center of the map.

  2. There is a terminal in the main building south of “LG” in “Algae” on the map.

  3. There is a laboratory with a terminal on the second floor. Interacting with it will begin transmitting audio.

UESC Supplies and Drone Manifest Exfil

  1. Go to the center of the bird marsh and look south.

  2. When the audio plays, a transport drone will spawn and move directly north.

  3. Find the transport drone and shoot it.

  4. Loot the transport drone for the “UESC Supplies” and “Drone Manifest” items.

  5. Banish from Dire Marsh with both items in your inventory.

Both of these steps can be completed in Dire Marsh in the Algae Pond. On the second floor of the blue building there is a terminal that you can interact with to listen to audio and spawn a transport drone.

Destroy the transport drones along the road north to loot UESC supplies and drone manifests. All that's left to do is take these items and extract them.

To complete this part of the contract, you must complete it in a single run and extract it successfully.

Drone scan in tunnel under station (0/3)

  1. Enter the Perimeter and head northeast to the station.

  2. Go inside the main building and go down the stairs to find the garage.

  3. Inside you will find several drones that you can scan.

  4. One is on the right side of the platform.

  5. The other one is next to the crane on the shelf.

  6. The last one is in the southeast corner.

Deliver unstable gunmetal resources to DCON on the border (0/7)

  1. Unstable gunmetal can often be cleaned from around the station.

  2. Once you find 7, open the map to find DCON.

  3. The nearest DCON should be south of the station.

  4. Drag the Unstable Gunmetal from your inventory to the DCON.

These two steps can be completed within a station, which is a POI on the border. To start, it's best to go to the station main building and enter the garage area via the stairs leading into the tunnel. You'll find tons of drones, but only some of them can be interacted with.

Unstable Gunmetal can be tracked down as a valuable item, but you'll find an abundance of stuff at stations. If you have more than 7, go to the DCON icon on the map and make a deposit to complete the quest.

These steps can be completed by running them multiple times.

Tracking Commander Location at Southern Relay South Terminal

  1. Enter the Perimeter map and head to the unmarked southernmost location of South Relay.

  2. There is a small facility here, accessed through a hatch in the roof.

  3. There are explosive traps inside, so be careful.

  4. Find the terminal in the northern room and activate it.

  5. You can leave by destroying the four red light boxes inside the facility.

Obtain credentials from the UESC Commander

  1. The UESC Commander's location is marked on the map (ours was North Relay).

  2. Ignore the timer. Because it is not time for the UESC commander to leave, it is time for him to emerge.

  3. Reach the POI where the UESC commander is and kill him along with his soldiers.

  4. Loot the UESC commander to obtain UESC credentials.

The final part of the quest takes you back to the Perimeter where you should start at the South Relay. South Relay Head south and you'll find a small facility at the edge of the map. Inside a booby-trapped building is a terminal that will reveal the location of the UESC Commander.

Check the UESC Commander's location to open the map and see where he is, then go there. A timer will tell you when he will spawn, so you don't have to worry. Once he arrives and dies, you can obtain the UESC credential item to complete the quest.

This quest must be completed in one go, but does not require extraction with UESC credentials. You just need to pick them up.
