Geography of Skovos
Technically a series of islands, Skovos is made up of several individual islands that come together to form a whole region. Located much further south than the other major continents of the sanctuary, Skovos' main islands include Philios, Lycander, and Skartara, with its capital, Temis, located between these islands. What makes Skovos a really interesting setting in Lord of Hatred is the origins of the Sanctuary and its role in the creation of humanity. Skovos is the oldest region of the Sanctuary and the birthplace of its first civilization. Therefore, the all-female Amazon warriors are the main military force of the Askari, known as nomadic warriors who use bows and spears to protect the seas around Skovos.
Another major force in Askari society are the Oracles, who act as a mystical counterweight to the warrior Amazons. The Oracle Caste is owned by the angel Lycander and was founded on the ancient Unseen Eye artifact said to give the Order a glimpse into the future. The Oracle was able to see the future using his invisible eyes. diabloThe Archdemon has returned, effectively predicting the Dark Expulsion of the Archdemon by the Lesser Evils.
