Originally released in September 2025, the Lenovo Legion GO 2 is considered the main competitor to the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X and Steam Deck portable devices. The Lenovo Legion GO 2 is powered by AMD's Ryzen Z2 and Z2 Extreme processors and was initially launched in models with 16GB and 32GB LPDDR5X memory and an 8.8-inch OLED display. Despite the prominence of Windows 11 in the portable market, some models of Lenovo Legon GO 2 came with SteamOS as the default operating system.

Amazon has revealed 12 free PC games that Prime subscribers can claim throughout April, two of which are available for download now.

However, the price of Lenovo Legion GO 2 has jumped to a much higher level than before. The Lenovo Legion GO 2 lineup now retails for $1,499 to $1,999 at retailers like Best Buy. The Ryzen Z2 version with 16GB of RAM is currently selling for $1,499, up $400 from its previous price. However, the price of the Lenovo Legion GO 2 model with Ryzen Z2 Extreme APU and 32GB RAM has increased by $650, from $1,349 to $1,999. After taxes and fees, the Z2 Extreme model of the Lenovo Legion GO 2 easily surpasses the $2,000 threshold, making it roughly the same price as a similarly specced desktop gaming PC.
To make matters worse, the Lenovo Legion GO 2 is mostly sold out, and open box quantities are limited at Best Buy at the time of this writing. Portable games continue to get more expensive
The price increase for Lenovo Legion GO 2 is mainly due to the ongoing DRAM shortage affecting the gaming and technology industries. The crisis has already led to price hikes for the PS5 console lineup and forced Valve to delay the launch of the highly anticipated Steam Machine. Additionally, scarcity led Valve to discontinue the cheaper version of the popular Steam Deck handheld gaming console. The prices of DDR5 RAM kits are starting to fall, but there is currently no indication that prices will drop to previous levels.
