Karlach in Baldur's Gate 3 reacts differently depending on his class at the tollbooth.

Karlach first shows her berserker fury in a recruitment mission in Baldur's Gate 3. After killing all the monks at the toll booth in Act 1, she is unable to control her emotions and roars and rages like a proper barbarian. However, if you transform him into a monk before completing the quest, he seems to express his anger in other ways.

Changing your character subclass is a great way to experience new content in Baldur's Gate 3. In addition to giving your party a huge boost, it also unlocks new dialogue and interactions for specific characters. Thus, when Karlach is converted to monkhood by Maud or Withers, her reaction at the toll booth reflects the change.

Karlach trades Fury for a karate chop.

This is an image of Kalak from Baldur's Gate 3 with an ax on his back.

As discovered by Redditor SkeletonChurch, who completed Karlach's recruitment mission while a monk, the Tiefling's angry reaction causes her to destroy the furniture around the toll booth with only her fists instead of her fiery rage. Maybe not that impressive, but it would be great to see her tearing up the place like Bruce Lee!

“What if we were in an alternate reality where Karlach took a different path and learned how to control his anger instead of harnessing it? What would it feel like if Karlach was ruled by inner calm rather than hot anger?” the post said. “Let me tell you, instead of getting angry while tearing down the tollbooth, it would be glorious to be running around screaming like Miss Piggy while tearing down the tollbooth.”

SkeletonChurch also noted that they are not sure if this reaction is due to her new class or because she has no weapons, but it is probably the former. They also said that as a wizard, they would try to do the same thing as Karlach, which would result in him wiping out the entire party with a fireball.

The OP seems to like playing around with character classes, as they mentioned turning Lae'zel into a bard with the funniest Vicious Mockery line. What's next? Astarion turned into a barbarian? Mintara to Bard? Where does it stop?
