India’s first-ever esports academy to be launched by the Madhya Pradesh sports department

Yashodhara Raje Scindiathe Minister for Technical Education, Skills Development and Employment in Madhya Pradesh said the upcoming online event will allow unlimited players and teams to register as long as they are within the age range of 10 to 17 years old, i.e. non-adults. She further quoted: “MP has developed into a sports center. The goal of establishing the Esports Academy is to promote all sports that are represented in the Asian Games and the Olympic Games.”

The aim is to give up-and-coming young people the chance to turn their passion and hobby into a sustainable profession. Given the youth’s interest in the digital and technological realms, Madhya Pradesh wants to bring e-sports to the front page alongside traditional sports. However, it’s unclear what games the competition will consist of and the format of the academy as no details have been announced. The event takes place between July 23, 2023 and the August 7, 2023.

Although this is a great initiative, people who are very aware of the current esports situation India might raise some questions.
