Updated by Joe Grantham on December 23, 2025: There's plenty of fresh content for ghost hunters to indulge in, including multiple seasonal events for Phasmophobia throughout the year, the addition of the Nell's Diner map, and the introduction of three new detectable ghosts. There are also new ID cards in Phasmophobia that players can unlock by completing certain challenges. Monthly ID cards will also be available through Twitch drops in the second half of 2025.
What is an ID card in Phasmophobia?
While players survive the hunt and identify the ghosts social phobiaThey get money and XP. Leveling up unlocks new maps, difficulty levels, and ID cards. An ID card is a visual representation of player information, including:

The player's XP progress is displayed as a bar at the bottom of the ID card. However, you can use the bar to adjust the voice chat volume whenever you see someone's ID card.
How to Customize Your ID Card
Every player starts as an intern and is given a simple ID card design. Your character model can be changed at any time by clicking on the model portrait and customizing its appearance. The badge on your ID card can also be changed by clicking the Customize button in the top right corner. Players earn more badges as they level up, participate in holiday/community events, or become a Kinetic Game Partner or Employee.
Players will receive the Prestige badge after reaching Prestige level 1. You can obtain it when you reach level 100. The best way to earn XP is to correctly identify ghosts, survive the hunt, and complete optional objectives.
Prestige badges 1-10 have static backgrounds and levels 11-20 have animated backgrounds.
Special badges are awarded only under certain conditions. Holidays and community events, such as the 2025 Cursed Hollow Easter event, will award at least one unique badge. This is only available for a limited time and cannot be obtained after the event ends. Other special badges are awarded to players who work at Kinetic, including Discord members, partners, translators, and content winners.
Certain maps have special badges that players can earn each time they identify a certain number of ghosts and survive the hunt.
