How to Solve the Throbbing Domain Altar Puzzle in Mewgenics

Exciting King Mugenics

When you first arrive at the realm of heartbeat, you will see a 'huge altar made of veins and flesh'. 'Sacrifice is required!' You are then given the option to sacrifice or ignore one of the four cats you ventured with. If your luck stat is high enough, you can choose to sacrifice the cat, but I recommend ignoring this and coming back after beating Guillotina three times.

If you beat Guillotina for the first time, you'll get the Throbbing Gristle. Take this item to the thick wall at the end of The Caves and half of it will open.

You will then face Guillotina a second time and be rewarded with Putrid Leach for defeating her. You need to take this to the artery at the end of the Boneyard. This will open the Throbbing Domain, but now we need to do one more thing.

Eventually, you will face Guillotina for the third and final time. Beat her and you'll get Guillotina's head. Equip this to one of the cats, then run through The Caves or The Boneyard to reach the Throbbing Domain at the end of the run. This will be a spot on the map after the boss fight.

Guillotinas Head Mugenics

Keep in mind that this will be a much tougher run. Guillotina's head makes every fight a tough one, forcing enemies to focus their attacks on the head-equipped cat. However, units that come in contact with or attack this cat have a certain probability to gain 'Fear', and basic attacks have a 10% chance to inflict fear.

Attach the head to one of the cats you don't really care about. If all the cats sacrificed on the altar haven't given it up yet, the cat chosen won't get a happy ending.

Cat with guillotine head must Now be the one interacting with the altar. The icon next to the sacrifice option now has a '!' Rather than being lucky.

If you choose to sacrifice a cat, you will see the following text: “(Cat's name) is placed on the sacrificial slab and the room begins to shake… Suddenly the altar overturns and (cat's name) is sucked into a pit of throbbing veins and tendons. The walls around the remaining cats shake and unfold, beckoning them deeper into the throbbing realm!”

Once you're done, you'll get a rather shocking cutscene confirming that the cat the Throbbing King chose to sacrifice is actually dead. This will unlock full access to the Throbbing Domain. You'll have to run for a short while to face the Throbbing King's secret boss fight at the end.
