How to install mods on StarRupture and which mods are worth installing?

Star Rupturea first-person open-world base-building game developed by Creepy Jar, is a mix of sci-fi exploration, alien combat, and resource-based survival. In this game, you must build a complex industrial base while uncovering the secrets of this new planet infested with spider-like monsters.

The community has used their skills to create many mods for Arcadia-7 that will not only make the game better but also make your gaming life a lot easier. We've listed the best mods for the early access version of this game, and we've also included a quick tutorial on how to install these add-ons.

How to install the mod

How to fix StarRupture via Steam.

Mods are a great way to improve your game, and everything on this list can be downloaded through Nexus Mods. Once you find the mod you want to install, select the ‘Manual Download’ option. Depending on whether you are a premium member or not, you will either receive the download immediately or have to wait a few seconds. Either way, it's usually very fast.

To install a downloaded mod, open your Steam library and look on the left to see where the game is listed.

  1. Right-click StarRupture.

  2. Scroll down to Manage and select Browse local files.

26 PC games with the most active modding communities

Some games are absolutely stacked with available mods, giving you almost endless options.

Once File Explorer opens, you need to move the files to the correct folder as follows:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StarRupture\StarRupture\Content\Paks

This is the file address for the mod on Steam for StarRapture.

After opening the 'Paks' folder, go back to the mod folder you downloaded from Nexus Mods and open it to reveal the files. Move or copy the file to the 'Paks' folder and close it. Open StarRapture and the mod will be installed. You can use multiple files, but you only need to download one, so take note of the mod description on the website. Some mods may be out of date.

If you have StarRapture installed on an external hard drive, you may receive an error when trying to move files to the 'Paks' folder. If this happens, the mod can only be installed if you're playing the game directly on PC.

With that said and done, go ahead and try out the best mods you can install!

larger inventory

A massive inventory mod for StarRupture.

This mod increases the starting inventory from 24 to 64 slots. You can unlock this feature later in the game, but it takes a lot of hard work and effort to get to this point. To make your life easier from day one, this mod provides instant upgrades. Unfortunately, this mod only works in new games and you'll need to select 'Skip Tutorial' to load it properly. Very useful for those who like to act as the rat/blister collector of the group.

ammo pile

Increased ammo inventory mod for StarRupture.

Alien enemies, such as spiders, attack in swarms and can easily be taken down if caught unprepared. Standard ammo stacking is 300, but this mod significantly increases this number to 999, saving you some much-needed space in your inventory and keeping you stocked up while exploring.

When you head out on an adventure, especially in single-player mode, you'll want to have as much ammo as possible. If you discover a map with a geoscanner, they will swarm as soon as they are activated and will continue to come for quite some time. This mode allows you to continue fighting for longer.

Collect 2

X2 Collection Mod by StarRupture.

Once you start exploring and analyzing items for data points, you'll quickly realize that picking up anything is often the best way to level up or survive. While certain items can already be found in abundance, items like Star Tear or Glow Hat are very useful but can be difficult to stock up on.

However, using this mode increases your collection. The default is set to x2, but there are also options for x5 and x10. It's up to you to decide how easy you want to make resource gathering.

Depending on how much you want to increase your collection, you only need to download one of the files for this mod.

A better mining mode for StarRupture.

Harvesting tools are tools you use early on in the game, and you'll still need them to gather valuable resources throughout your base and factory improvements. Some ores take longer to harvest than others, and while it's already a relatively quick process, this mod allows you to do so much faster.

This will keep your harvester running longer without needing to reload, and will be your only defense against hostile aliens before you unlock the pistol. You'll appreciate its efficiency as you battle against time and waves.

500 piles of ore

StarRupture's ore stacking mode.

As you venture around Arcadia-7, you'll need a lot of resources to continue building a safe habitat. The initial amount of ore stacked is 100, but this increases to 500 when using this mod. You can collect as much ore as you want without worrying about making room for other loot, knowing that you'll always have enough to build a fire escape when the waves hit.

It also saves time in the long run before unlocking extractors, minimizing round trips between your base and resources. Efficiency is the key to running a mining facility, and the more we transport, the faster we can complete contracts.

faster leveling

Faster level up mode in StarRupture.

If you plan on unlocking everything during Early Access, this is the mode for you. When you start the game the leveling system increases to 2x speed and later to 1.3x speed. It can be frustrating waiting to level up and unlock essential slots and gear, but installing this feature will really save you time.

As your level up speed improves, slots will start unlocking 5 levels earlier than usual. Perfect for players who want to complete everything before the next big update.

The early access version of StarRupture limits player level to 45. Mods can help you reach this level faster, but you won't be able to get past it.

Player Tuning

This is StarRupture's character adjustment mode.

Upgrades are unlocked as you play the game and utilize LEM stations, but if you're someone who gets frustrated with slow progress and characters with low health, this mode will give you a much-needed boost.

There are also options to greatly increase health regeneration, increase speed, and turn off hunger and thirst. If your playstyle is pure exploration and less survival, this mode will help you get the most out of your character.

more electricity

Solar generator mod for StarRupture.

Building a thriving base and industrial mining facility requires a lot of power and resources. Eventually your area will be full of equipment and machinery that all require electricity (some more than others), and if you don't place them strategically, you could end up with more solar power than I do. This mod requires 5x the resources to craft, but each solar generator provides 5x the power output, limiting the number required.

For players who like to keep everything neat, tidy, and minimalistic, this mod is the perfect way to streamline their primary areas. It also reduces the amount of equipment that alien enemies can attack and damage. It can save you a lot of time, energy and resources.
