Medtool is unlocked when you reach level 3 in the Future Health Solutions company.. This is done by first completing the company's first task in the Orbital Cargo Launcher. To do this, you need to place an Ore Extractor at the Wolfram Ore deposit, connect it to a smelter with rails, and connect it to the Orbital Cargo Launcher to send 200 generated Wolfram Bars to easily complete the task.

Once this is done, Send Wolfram Wire and Wolfram Bars to complete the second task of Future Health Solutions.. Wolfram Bars can be created as before, but Wolfram Wire requires the Forge to be connected to a Fabricator. Select a Wolfram Wire recipe in Fabricator, then connect it to the Orbital Cargo Launcher to start sending it to Future Health Solutions.

Wolfram Bars only contribute 1 to the 1,500 needed to reach level 3, so you'll see your progress slow down. Wolfram Wire, on the other hand, gives you 5 per wire you send, which helps you get the job done faster, but requires more structure and machinery setup to create them.

After completing this task, return to the corporate terminal and use the level 3 reward from the Future Health Solutions corporation, a very useful Medtool.

The Medtool can only be used once it is fully charged. It can only be charged by killing pests (read: enemies), taking damage, and collecting plants. When fully charged and ready to use, press H to load. You can then use the medical tool on yourself or aim it at a fellow player and press LMB to heal them.

Medtools are particularly useful in that they allow you to treat yourself without the use of food or hydration devices. You need to manage your hunger and thirst meters, but you don't want to use food and water unnecessarily when both are full but your health is low. Medtool also provides a much larger and faster health boost, making it the preferred option when dealing with large amounts of pests while exploring the map or trying to gather new materials and objects for data points.
