’God save Dua Lipa’: festival puts Kosovo on music map

Pristina: With its denim shorts, selfies, sequins and thumping bass lines, it’s easy to mistake this for Coachella or Glastonbury. But Pristina’s Sunny Hill festival is largely responsible for making Kosovo a must-see during Europe’s summer festival season, thanks in large part to its founder, Dua Lipa. For years, Kosovo has been linked to the bloody war with Serbia in the late 1990s, when Albanian rebels and Serbian forces fought each other, killing thousands and sparking a refugee crisis.
