If you ask gamers what game they're most excited about, a lot of the names they'll probably come up with are “Grand Theft Auto 6.” Aside from that, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 is undoubtedly a name that will be featured a lot.
However, with Rebirth only being released 18 months ago, official news about the title has been scarce. However, director Naoki Hamaguchi promised such information. It will come “in the not-too-distant future,” and that future won’t be too far away either. It seems we are getting closer.
In a new interview, Hamaguchi gave us a major development update, revealing: The gameplay portion of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 is “almost complete.”.
Final Fantasy Remake Part 3's gameplay is in the “polishing phase”
Clair Obscur: Speaking to French YouTuber Julien Chièze with Expedition 33's Guillaume Broche (translated by TheGamer), Hamaguchi said, “At this point, the core game experience is almost complete, and now we're in the process of refining and refining it.” This is the most explicit confirmation of the game's progress we've received to date.
“As a director, I have a very strong feeling about the final form of the game,” Hamaguchi said. “Honestly, I hope everyone can play it quickly, but of course, it is a game, so it has to be carefully crafted before being delivered to players.”
At this point, the core game experience is almost complete.
“If we go through these steps well, I think we will be able to present it in a form that we are satisfied with. So please wait a little longer and I think we will be able to provide you with more information soon.”
The director also selected ‘high-end’ as an important keyword for the third entry. He said, “In the third part, introducing new gameplay experiences and new scales is the key to successfully conveying the project to players. 'High-end' is definitely an important keyword here, there is no doubt about it.”
Naoki Hamaguchi claimed that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth wouldn't be too long, but that Part 3 would be more “concise.”
I agree with him, but suffice it to say that not everyone does.
Hamaguchi said that from the beginning, the team “had no intention of making all three parts feel like the same game.” They defined what a remake meant in the first part, expanded it in an open-world way in the second, and are now looking at new gameplay experiences and scale in the third.
I think we will be able to get more information starting next year.
