Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi has confirmed that development on Remake Part 3 is “progressing well,” but it will be a while before we hear more about it.
Even though Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was just released earlier this year, Square Enix has been surprisingly open about how development is progressing for the third and final part of the Remake trilogy. Ignoring the fact that we still don't know what subtitles are (even though it's almost certainly Reunion), we've heard quite a bit about it over the past few months.

This year's Final Fantasy 14 Starlight Celebration is my favorite.
FFXIV goes even further this year with the addition of Starlight Celebration and Starlight Stalls.
In addition to sharing details about how Highwind will be utilized in Remake Part 3, the developers recently confirmed that the game's story is complete and is now in full production. It hasn't been long since it was announced, but we've already received an update on how the remake's finale is progressing.
Don't expect Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 news to come out anytime soon
As pointed out by Twitter user Genki_JPN, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi recently shared a statement with 4Gamer about their goals for 2025, and this year's keyword is 'development'. Hamaguchi noted that the remake team is putting all their efforts into the final installment of the trilogy and that development is “progressing well.”
The development team, including myself, is putting all our efforts into the third installment of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series. Development is progressing well, but please wait a little longer until new information is released. – Naoki Hamaguchi
However, Hamaguchi confirmed that it will be a while before more news about the game emerges, asking fans to wait 'just a little longer' until new information is shared. That's not too surprising considering the fact that Rebirth isn't even a year old yet, but it does suggest that an update may come out sometime in 2025.
