This post contains spoilers for Naruto.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generation It is the sequel to Naruto. The intention was to create a series that focused on the new talents that emerged after the end of the Fourth Ninja War. The big change is that Kishimoto is no longer the main writer. Instead, the reins were handed over to Ikemoto.
Naruto: 8 Incredibly Strong Characters
You shouldn't judge certain Naruto characters by their appearance. Here are some unexpected examples that turned out to be surprisingly strong:
Clearly Ikemoto has his own ideas about how to progress. Boruto's Although it's a story, fans can't help but think that some of the characters were treated harshly and became mere bystanders. One such character is Sarutobi Konohamaru.
Konohamaru was a promising character
Konohamaru had a lot of potential.
In Naruto Part 1, Konohamaru appeared as a promising young character with a bright future, especially since he is the grandson of the legendary Hiruzen Sarutobi. Naruto fans know that Hiruzen is the Third Hokage of the Leaf. He is also called the God of Shinobi and was trained directly by the First and Second Hokage. As a descendant of such a legendary ninja, it would have been a shame if Konohamaru could not become closer to his grandfather.
In the second part, Konohamaru had a particularly standout moment when he used the Rasengan in one of the Six Paths of Pain. This was a great achievement for the young ninja, as both of Pain's bodies were equipped with lethal abilities. From that point until the end of the story, Konohamaru did not receive much attention. This is understandable since he did not have enough strength to fight in the Fourth Ninja War.

Konohamaru was a great talent.

Ikemoto did not treat Konohamaru politely.
After Boruto was announced, it felt like at least some older characters would get a chance to shine in the comics. Ikemoto didn't have to put all his focus on them, but he could at least treat them right. Considering how badly Ikemoto treated Naruto and Sasuke, poor Konohamaru didn't even pray. Konohamaru seemed like an incompetent teacher as not only was he unable to defeat most of his opponents, but he also had to be rescued by his students.
His inability to defeat this enemy also raised questions about his status as a Jonin. A renowned ninja should protect his students, not the other way around. Die-hard fans had been holding out hope for some time, but the sudden surge in power means there's no way Konohamaru can keep up with the villain. Looking at his performance, it is no exaggeration to say that Konohamaru is Boruto's biggest failure.
Ikemoto ruined Naruto and Sasuke
The two heroes were completely destroyed
As previously mentioned, Naruto and Sasuke also fell victim to Ikemoto's writing. It's one thing to alienate a character, but it's another thing to take away their abilities and humiliate them in battle. Naruto lost Kurama, whom he considered a close friend. Meanwhile, Sasuke lost the Rinnegan at the hands of Boruto, whose body was taken by Momoshiki. After losing their powers, the two characters were sidelined.
Description of Naruto Uzumaki's Future Bijuu Powers
Naruto Uzumaki was heavily nerfed in Boruto. However, he can unlock new powers related to the Tailed Beast.
Naturally, many fans were outraged by Ikemoto's decision. They couldn't wrap their heads around some of the choices the author made. It is undeniable that Ikemoto's decision had a negative impact on the Boruto manga, which is reflected in the series' declining sales. With interest plummeting, Ikemoto will have to be extremely careful about his next move. There's little chance the series will continue for very long if he continues to ignore old fan favorites. In fact, the chances of the anime returning are rather low.
The first installment of the Boruto anime received a lukewarm response at best due to an unpleasant amount of filler that had nothing to do with the canonical story. Fans had to wait an entire week to see new episodes, only to see irrelevant filler material. If animation comes back, the studio needs to reduce the amount of filler. Otherwise the animation will definitely fail again.
