Black Ops 7 already has massive discounts

In a very interesting and almost unheard of turn of events, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, the heavily criticized first-person shooter that makes up this year's Call of Duty entry, is now on sale.

It's not just a sale, it's a whopping 50% off across all platforms (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One). Black Ops 7 was officially released on November 14th, just a month after launch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 proves that the bigger you are, the easier it is to fall.

Activision has admitted that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 fell short and won't make the same mistake again.

Plus, it's not just one retailer. Black Ops 7 is available at GameStop, Best Buy and Target, and Amazon. It's not sold digitally, but most digital stores don't have a weekly refresh yet.

I haven't decided yet if I'll buy Black Ops 7, but if I do, I'll probably pick up the game at Best Buy since, at least for now, it looks like I'll be getting a limited edition steelbook with my purchase. It's not bad.

It's not uncommon for games to sell out after release. This happens all the time, especially now that the holiday season is so busy. That said, it's not common to see games like this: to the letter It was just released to get this big discount.

I'm not the only one who remembers that the Call of Duty titles released every year double as the best Christmas gifts, and whether you bought the game when it released or waited until Christmas, there were very few discounts. If there was one, it wasn't large.

Never mind. Black Ops 7 is about breaking the rules.

Black Ops 7 had a rough launch, and that may be being generous.

When Black Ops 7 launched a month ago, its status on Steam Tanks was immediately identified as “mixed” and later listed as “mostly negative,” with many taking issue with its unrealistic campaign and blatant use of AI.

Outside of Steam, things snowballed, with Black Ops 7 becoming the worst user-reviewed title in the series' history. Activision and Co. began bribing zombie players due to player counts, especially the campaign free fall. Meanwhile, the requirement to complete the campaign to access Extraction Shooter mode was also removed shortly after launch.

For Season 1, Black Ops 7 introduced a ton of maps, modes, and skins that were historically only available for purchase. Unfortunately, this didn't do much to increase player count.

Activision recently revealed that it will no longer be releasing the Modern Warfare or Black Ops series back-to-back, and appears to be apologizing for the current situation. Somehow, the game became the most downloaded title on PlayStation in November, giving us hope that things might not be as bad as they seem.

Fast forward to today, and it seems like the next logical step would be to heavily discount the game and hope that enough people buy it to not only increase sales and player count, but also help regain some goodwill. Let's see if that solves the problem.
