1990: The Three-Eyed Man
Osamu Tezuka is often referred to as the “Godfather of Manga”, having written numerous series and influenced countless manga artists who followed in his footsteps. Although series like Astro Boy and Black Jack are among his best-known series, Tezuka has put out many great series over the years for fans to enjoy. One thing that is often overlooked is one with three eyes.
The series tells the story of Hosuke Sharaku, a young boy who is transformed into an evil wizard who wields incredible power and plans to conquer the world when he opens his third eye. Sharaku wears a bandage over his eyes to avoid this, and is unaware of his evil alter ego or their plans. This is actually the second adaptation of the series as a TV movie. 1991: City Hunter '91
City Hunter was one of the biggest series of the '80s, and like many other popular titles from that era, its success continued into the '90s with the release of various films and several follow-up series. As a series, City Hunter '91 is virtually identical to its predecessor. It has the same style, but sometimes adds a more comedic element, which may or may not be to the taste of some fans. The final episode is quite controversial among fans, but overall it's a great final entry in the animated series.
1992: Yuyu Hakusho

1993: Slam Dunk
The first Slam Dunk release in 2023 may have served as an introduction to the series for many people. It's a stunning film with excellent visuals and a powerful, condensed narrative. But that doesn't mean the original 1993 series isn't worth watching.

However, Shinichi is attacked by a criminal organization called the Black Organization and takes a strange drug that turns him into a 7-year-old boy. Still keen, Shinichi takes on the pseudonym Edogawa Conan and sets out to learn more about the mysterious Black Organization in hopes of reversing the drug's effects.
1997: Young Kindaichi's File
Case closed This may be one of the most well-known mystery anime, but there are many other great mystery series that are often overlooked. One of them happened in 1997. Young Kindaichi's file. The series follows the story of high school student Hajime Kindaichi, an incredibly talented young detective whose grandfather is considered Japan's greatest detective. Hajime wanders around solving all kinds of cases, from gruesome criminals to brain-busting secret room mysteries.
Mystery novel fans may have a little better hearing when they hear the name ‘Kindaichi’. Hajime's grandfather is presumed to be none other than Kindaichi Kousuke, the famous detective created by legendary mystery novelist Seishi Yokomizo. Hajime is certainly living up to his family name. 1998: Trigun
