Ball X Pit Beginner Tips
These beginner-friendly tips for the Ball X Pit will help you safely brave the depths of Ballbylon.
As you delve deeper underground, you'll start to realize how important a ball with an area of effect is. Poison-based balls tend to give you the best bang for your buck. Then there are balls that apply effects that increase the overall damage taken by enemy units, which can be incredibly OP later on. The 19 basic balls are ranked primarily by the strength of their evolution.
S grade ball
- sun (Burn x Flash) – Probably the most broken ball. ball x pit. Provides both AoE and status damage without fusion. When fused, all other balls in the game become better.
- bleeding (Bleed x Iron) – The best boss killer. One of the best balls in New Game + mode. It goes well with Maggot, Magma, and Berserk, as well as the three big AoE balls (Flash, Flicker, and Sun).
- maggot (Brood Mother Do not use with empty nest or makeshift Sisyphus.
- burn – The best basic ball in the game. It offers evolution options along with 10 other base balls, making it an easy pick for those who want to keep their options open.
- virus (Cell x Poison or Ghost x Poison) – Disease automatically moves from one enemy to the next. Fusing with Flash, Flicker, Sun or Mosquito based balls makes it lethal.
- Satan (Incubus x Sucubus) – Direct upgrade to Sun, which combines massive AoE burn with a berserk effect that causes enemies to kill each other. Hard to find but one of the best products ball x pit Ball for raw damage.
- frozen flame (Burn x Freeze) – Frostburn deals damage over time while also increasing the damage enemies take from all other sources. Its 20 second duration gives it an edge over similar options.
- nuclear bomb (Bomb x Poison) – The heaviest hitter in the game. It inflicts massive local damage and leaves behind a radiation field that permanently weakens surviving enemies.
- glacier (Earthquake x Freeze) – Ice spikes freeze enemies in place, creating artificial choke points throughout the pit. Spikes do surprisingly high damage compared to similar balls.
- dough (Burn Once fused, it manifests itself.
- Mosquito King (Brood Mother x Vampire) – The standard for survival builds. Creates a swarm of mosquitoes that steal enemy health. It is effective when combined with a place where many people gather or a ball that spreads a virus-like condition.

- spider queen (Brood Mother x Egg Sac) – Queen of multiball builds. There is a huge trigger rate for egg sac creation, allowing you to fill the screen with hundreds of baby balls in seconds.
Grade A ball
radiation beam It's also a fantastic choice for ball support. leech If you plan to build around Bleed. In general, balls that only focus on damage without any additional effects are a waste of slots, but bomb It bucks this trend with its exceptionally high AOE damage and reasonable cooldown time. noxious and swarm of mosquitoes Both are very good options, but it is better to choose Virus and Mosquito King if possible.
B grade ball
poison It gives you some very good options when it comes to evolution, but you'll probably be better off using Burn if you can. black hole It looks very good on paper, but it's very situational and it's hard to justify the long cooldown and complex evolution formula (requires Sun, a much better unfused ball). sacrifice It's not the worst shout out if you're open to bleed-focused builds, but in most situations you'll be much better off using bleed, especially if you're playing in New Game+ mode.
C grade ball
Laser (horizontal) Probably the best of the two lasers. However, the upgrade path is quite weak. Full screen AOE damage is provided. flicker Looks good on paper, but too low to execute. Especially when Sun and Flash are important to you. Likewise, healing power in love It may look attractive at first glance, but the damage is non-existent. If you really want to incorporate healing into your build, I recommend targeting one of the two Mosquito Balls.
D grade ball
