Kyle Sandilands angrily defended himself against a heckler on last night’s episode of Australian Idol.

Sandilands was in the middle of delivering a particularly rough assessment of contestant Isaac’s performance when an audience member decided he had gone too far, and yelled back at him from the crown.

Sadly, Isaac ended up forgetting half the words to Lukas Graham’s smash hit 7 Years, and throughout the performance Sandilands grew noticeably annoyed.

“How’d it feel singing the song with half the words missing?” Sandilands said after the performance came to an end.

“Yeah… all the stress and the nerves got to me,” Isaac said.

“Right, so you just lost your place,” responded Sandilands. “Every time we’ve seen you lately, there’s been a big sinkhole in your performance.”

At this point, Sandilands barrage of negative remarks became too much for one audience member, who decided enough was enough.

“Kyle, you suck!” prompting the judge to swing around in his chair, visibly angry.

“What, you think you know better?” Sandilands asked the heckler. “Come down here, clown! Come down here and say what you think is great? No? Then shut your pie-hole!”

Sandilands spoke about the moment on Wednesday’s Kyle & Jackie O Show, revealing that he refused to have the man kicked out of the audience following the incident.

“I’m not a b**ch, I said ‘there’s no need to [kick him out]’,” Sandilands said.

“As a viewer we love that stuff,” co-host Jackie O Henderson added.

Opening up about the contestant, Sandilands went on to add that the industry may not be the right one for him if he can’t handle the intense workload.

“The guy’s got a voice, and he’s got all the pain from being homeless and all the trolley pushing… but if he can’t handle the pressure of singing songs its not the job for you,’ added the TV judge.

Following his rough performance, Issac was put “on notice” by the judges, which means he’s now at major risk of being knocked out of the singing competition for good.
