Assassin's Creed Shadows developers say we'll be seeing more of Kassandra in the future.

Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed Shadows keep us guessing with every news article. About a week ago, the company postponed a call with investors at the last minute, sparking acquisition rumors. The company was actually doing quite well, and Shadows were selling better than expected.

More recently, Shadows' Attack on Titan crossover came under fire for featuring terrible cutscenes. And despite its success, the game's second expansion was scrapped. Now, the series is bringing back Kassandra from Assassin's Creed Odyssey and it looks like they plan to keep her around for future content.

In its most recent update, Shadows finally added a reference to The Isu, a pioneer race that featured heavily in the pre-RPG era. There were also references to Kassandra and other protagonists from previous games. We've already seen Kassandra appear in AC Valhalla. Now she's immortal, but associate game director Simon Lemay-Comtois hints she'll have a more prominent role in the future.

“We’d love to see Kassandra there,” Lemay-Comtois said in an interview with JorRaptor (thanks, GamesRadar). “And yes, she's immortal at this point and could very well appear in Japan, so we connected the dots. Without revealing what that was, we created a story about when she went to Japan. What did she do there? She did more than just put things in a cave on the surface.”

He reveals that she definitely didn't transport all this stuff across the world by herself and probably had a whole crew to help her. But all of this wasn't just a fun Easter egg as Lemay-Comtoit explained. “There is a justification for why there is a statue of Cassandra in the cave that she brought with her. We may reveal it later. We did our homework. We [didn’t] Just drop Cassandra in there. And this won’t be the last Isu content that will be included in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.”

I've already forgotten everything that happened in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Shadows may have perfected RPG combat, but it's still one of the most forgotten Assassin's Creed games ever.

Based on this information, it appears that Kassandra could be a recurring character in the future of the series. Perhaps she will take on a mentor role of sorts for future protagonists.
