The Spartan Aspis Shield has a unique visual style that combines Kratos' Spartan past with the Guardian Shield. The best looking shield, and probably the best shield for the most skilled players, the Spartan Aspis is reliable due to its shield check and parry, but it also has a risk factor due to its small parry window.
However, the Spartan Aspis, equipped with a more powerful special counter attack when using the fly, demonstrates its power and brutality in all of Kratos' attacks, and since this technique is only unlocked in New Game Plus, players will likely have mastered the fly by then.
