If you want to use cheat commands but don't know where to start, you've come to the right place. In this guide, we'll look at how to use cheat commands in Stardew Valley. It's important to remember that you can only use cheat commands if you can edit your save file.

How to enable cheats
You cannot use cheats after opening the game as usual. Instead, you need to enable it. This can be done with: Edit the save file directly. To do this Press Windows and ‘R’ on your computer. then 'Run' box, Here you can type (or paste) the following:
Click OK and a File Explorer window will open. here, Scroll down until you see Stardew Valley and enter it.. You can see all the save files in the game by clicking on the file that says 'Save'. Our farm is called Windy Hill and can be seen in the image above.
Please open only the relevant save file. Farm name and number. If you have an item ending in 'old', you don't need to interact with it.
At this point you need to: Open the farm's save file, This will bring up a notepad full of text. Instead of searching for files, simply Press Ctrl and 'F'. Then try searching for:

If you find this part of text Your goal is to change 'false' to 'true'. With this, you've activated cheats in Stardew Valley! From here, save the Notepad file, quit, and load the game as usual.
