Star Rail's new Amphoreus character draws comparisons to Greek mythology

Honkai: Star Rail In version 3.0, we're officially traveling to the fourth planet, Amphoreus, and Trailblazer is embarking on an exciting journey. The new Path of Remembrance includes new missions, environments, enemies, and even abilities. Plus, in true HoYoverse fashion, Honkai: Star Rail It also teased new playable characters coming in the coming months.

Amphoreus, also known as the “Eternal Land”, is said to be a mysterious planet that even Aeon and Akibili the Trailblaze have not been able to reach. According to early teasers, the planet will feature Greek-inspired elements. For example, we get a glimpse into how a god-like being was responsible for the creation of the planet and the design choices made for its surroundings. Honkai: Star RailGolden Epic Trailer. The new Amphoreus character appears to be based on characters from Greek mythology and other prominent figures from Greece, which could be an interesting touch to their personalities and backstories.

One of the known forces on Amphoraeus is the Chrysos Heirs, a group of chosen people prophesied to draw out the core spark of the god and sustain the world. There are 12 known members of the Chrysos Heirs. Honkai: Star Rail Only eight characters with different purposes have been revealed in Amphoreus. This character is also playable in: Honkai: Star Rail In the future.

Amphoreus characters known so far

Aglaea

Known as the “Goldweaver”, Aglaia holds the vital spark of romance and is tasked with summoning heroes to defeat the gods and revive the dying world of Amphoraeus. In Greek mythology, Aglaia is one of the three charities symbolizing beauty, glory, and decoration. She also became the second wife of Hephaestus after Aphrodite. Additionally, Aglaea is a 5-star lightning character following Path of Remembrance. Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0.

Trivi

Depicted as having three faces, Trivi is a messenger who travels various paths and resides with divine commands. She is likely a representation of Hecate, the Greek goddess depicted with three heads or faces and often associated with crossroads.

anaxa

Anaxsa, named after the ancient Greek philosopher Anaxagoras, is described as a scholar who “investigates prophecy and defies the gods.” This appears to be consistent with the spirit of scientific inquiry that Anaxagoras applied to his cosmology and other philosophical studies.

hyacinth

Hyacinth is depicted as a young-looking girl and is said to be a priest who will heal the heavens and rebuild Amphoreus' mystical realm. It is possible that she was named after Hyacinth, a Spartan prince who became Apollo's lover.

Meday

In the Golden Saga trailer, Mydei is depicted as a fierce warrior who has been likened to Ares, the Greek god of war. However, his full name, Mydeimos, may have been taken from Deimos, a Greek god and son of Ares and Aphrodite.

Ciphera

Cifera, also known as “The Fleet-Footed”, has cat-like characteristics and can move quickly. So far, she is the only character that doesn't directly reference Greek mythology. However, Cifera comes from the word “cipher”, a type of encryption used by the ancient Greeks to protect information.

Castoris

Castorice, guardian of the River of Souls (Styx), becomes the guardian of Charon, the boatman who transports the souls of the dead to the underworld. Judging by her name, HoYoverse may be based on Castor, one half of the Gemini twins.

pynon

Depicted simply as an unnamed hero, Phaenon appears to have been based on Phaenon, a representation of the Greek sky god and the planet Saturn. Many fans also noted Phainon's resemblance to Kevin Kaslana. Honkai Impact 3rdSo it's possible that he's another alternate version of an existing HoYoverse character.
