Super Mario World Yoshi Lego goes on sale ahead of upcoming retirement

LEGO has been working with Nintendo since 2020 and has created a ton of great Mario sets. But this may be your last chance to buy it, as its best product, the Super Mario World set featuring Nintendo's frontrunner Yoshi, will soon be gone forever.

The Super Mario World Lego set is not only one of Mario's best to date, but it's also one of the most unique Lego sets available today. Once complete, the set will be designed to look like it's pulled straight from the iconic SNES game, Pixels, and more.

But how good the set looks is only half the battle. Super Mario World was the first to introduce Yoshi to the real world. In the game, Yoshi was able to extend his long tongue and swallow fruits and enemies. Interactive Lego sets based on the game's protagonists could do the same. By turning the crank on the set, Yoshi's mouth can open and his tongue can come out.

Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever. This is especially true in the fast-paced world of Lego. The Danish toy brick company is creating new sets every day, which means old sets have to make way. The Super Mario World set is a set that will inevitably be retired in July of this year. Once selected for discontinuation, not only will you no longer be able to purchase this set after this month, but retailers that have it in stock are dropping the price.

The Mario & Yoshi set is still available now on the LEGO website for an MSRP of $129.99. This item will be sold out or discontinued by July 31, 2026 and will never be returned. However, if the price of the set is putting you off and you're stuck because the price isn't dropping right now and the set will be gone soon, you can currently get it for less at Best Buy.

Best Buy is offering 30% off the price of the Super Mario World set. Not only does this bring the price down to under $100, but you can currently get it for $90.99. Unlike Lego, Best Buy has no interest in these sets remaining after they are retired. Since the set has to go, we've reduced the price with 10 days left until the set goes away.

The only caveat is that these sets sell out quickly. Finding the product online at the Best Buy store closest to your location has already proven difficult, so whether or not you'll be able to purchase the set online will determine whether or not you'll be able to purchase the set online. If you're not having any luck online, but have a Best Buy near you, it might be worth stopping by when you get the chance. There may be a set on the shelf, and the price may be much lower as you get closer to the end of the month. But waiting would be a gamble.
