Cha Hae-in's repackaged sketch from 2023, Solo Leveling: Beyond the System movie's official first look at Ah-jin Guild Arc
solo leveling Thanks to the incredible efforts of A-1 Pictures, the anime debuted in 2024. Since then, the franchise has received one more animated project in the form of Solo Leveling Season 2, which was officially released over a year ago in January 2025. Since the end of the second season, fans have been wondering what's next for the franchise. Luckily, Anime Expo 2026 answered all our questions. On July 4, 2026, A1 Pictures finally revealed the form of the next installment in the Solo Leveling franchise, 'Solo Leveling: Beyond the System'. Beyond the System is a theatrical release, and so far we've seen a cool concept teaser trailer with Key Visual for a July 4, 2026 release date.
This may be officially confirmed content included in the film, but we got a secret glimpse of more content three years ago, in 2023. 2023, solo leveling Season 1 was still in pre-production, but a resurfaced sketch focusing on South Korea's powerful S-class hunter Cha Hae-in has been released, which will likely come directly from the upcoming film.
In this repackaged sketch solo leveling The production crew especially captured Cha Hae-in sparring. For fans who haven't read the comics, this might not matter all that much. However, this sketch matches perfectly with Chapters 113 and 114 of Solo Leveling, a comic about training with Jinwoo against the two shadows, Igris and Beru. In these two chapters, Cha Hae-in wants to become stronger after the trauma he experienced on Jeju Island, where he was too weak to stop the Ant King. The sparring with Igris was brief, but what caught everyone's attention was the training match with Beru, the shadow of the Ant King. Cha gets along well at first, but Beru easily overpowers her and actually almost kills her. In the end, Jinwoo had to stop Belu himself.
“Are you sure this Black Knight is your strongest? You said you would call your strongest soldier for me, so summon him here right now. Anyway, I was hoping for a rematch.” — Cha Hae-in, Solo Leveling Episode 113
For context, this training match takes place a little before the Double Dungeon Arc, in the Azin Arc, which we already know will be covered in the theatrical film, so it's a sneak peek of what's to come.
Solo Leveling: Beyond the System will cover the Ajin Guild Arc and the Double Dungeon Arc
The information we have at this time is very limited. Solo Leveling: Beyond the System. With a key visual that only features the title and Jin-Woo, and a small concept trailer that doesn't give away any key plot details, you don't really know what to expect from the movie. However, Crunchyroll officially confirmed in an announcement on July 4, 2026 that the upcoming film will continue the story after the Jeju Island Incident and follow the content of Season 2 of the TV animation. In other words, the Ajin Guild arc is next, followed by the Double Dungeon arc, which is the arc that all fans of solo leveling are eagerly waiting for. This section covers chapters 122 to 133 of the solo leveling manga.
The first arc to be witnessed in the movie will be the Ahijin Guild Arc and will cover chapters 111 to 122. The Azin Guild Arc may not be the most popular in the story, but it's still incredibly exciting as we get to see Beru go through the A-rank gate on his own. In this issue, Jinwoo also acquires a new shadow, Zima, one of the Nagas.
The highly anticipated Double Dungeon arc will immediately follow, and Jinwoo will face his biggest challenge to date. Jinwoo will return to the Cartenon Temple, where it all began and where he first acquired the system. There he encounters the Architect and loses his shadow army for a time. The fact that Jinwoo loses his powers for a while is likely to be the point of this movie. The title ‘Beyond the System’ clearly shows this. In the double dungeon, Jinwoo must protect himself without his own powers.
Cha Hae-in's role in the new solo leveling movie
It's definitely interesting to get a glimpse of Cha Hae-in a few years before the film's release, and it gives us an idea of what to expect from her. In other words, although Cha Hae-in is an important character, no one will be able to surpass Jin-woo in solo leveling.
“My king has given me one command: to defeat my enemy without harming her. I will show her how strong I am and make her lose the will to fight. A simple mission indeed.” — Beru’s Solo Leveling Chapter 114
Nonetheless, Cha will still stand out in a few ways in the upcoming film. She plans to train with Igris and Beru, but will also try to join the Ajin Guild. She will also assist Jinwoo in the Double Dungeon arc and fight against the Architect and his statue. Her romance with Jinwoo will likely flourish in the future, and we can't wait to see it.
The first two seasons of the Solo Leveling TV anime produced by Aniplex and A-1 Pictures are currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.
