Many people already have high expectations for the Exodus. This sci-fi RPG is being developed by Archetype, a studio founded by former BioWare developers, so many see it as a spiritual successor to the Mass Effect series.
So many were disappointed when it was confirmed that character creators would be much more limited than in Mass Effect. The developers have confirmed that there will be “curated options” when we design Jun Aslan, with customization options such as “hairstyle, beard, hair color, eye color, makeup and tattoos” open.
Of course, the worst part is that those of you who wanted to build your own character, perhaps even a character a little more like yourself, can no longer do so. But there are other fans who are disappointed. These are fans who think that Gibbon Jun was cut.
Exodus fans want Jun to be redesigned before the game's release.
Fans have already been complaining that June's facial animation is a little weird in the trailers we've seen. Now fans don't care about his looks at all. This is not surprising. Everyone is going to be a lot more critical now that we've just found out that we're probably going to be stuck with this face.
To make matters worse, we haven't even really seen the female June yet. The developers have reassured us that she exists, but all previews so far have focused on Friend-Jun. Of course, that's something it really shares with Mass Effect, at least before the third game where the femshep was finally able to shine.
Given that Exodus is releasing next year, we wouldn't expect any kind of drastic redesign. Especially since it looks like they're still putting the final touches on the female protagonist. But knowing how limited our choices will be, fans' expectations will be even higher. This issue cannot be fixed in the character creator.
