After 4 years, One Piece introduces 3 new legendary Devil Fruits

with the story of one piece In Final Saga, Eiichiro Oda introduces one legendary Devil Fruit after another. The Elbaf Arc alone brought in quite a few. Four years ago in One Piece, the first truly legendary Devil Fruit, namely Hitohitonomi, was officially revealed in episode 1044 of the Nikaga Wano Kuni Arc.

Now, in the ongoing Elbaf, especially the climax, Eiichiro Oda has revealed three new legendary devil fruits, and more legendary fruits will be revealed in the future, so I'm really looking forward to it. These fruits are Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr, and Akuma no Mi.

Four years after Nika, Nidhoggr, Akuma, and Ratatosk Devil Fruits are revealed at the climax of One Piece's Elbaf Arc.

one piece The first proper Legendary Devil Fruit reveal came in Chapter 1044, officially released in Issue 17 of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump on March 28, 2022. In this chapter, the Five Elders officially reveal that Hito Hitonomi, Model: Nika, was changed to Gomu Gomu no Mi to prevent her from reaching her full potential. In fact, Hitohitonomi (model: Nika) is a legendary devil fruit that, when awakened, is given the power of the sun god Nika and transforms into a warrior of liberation.

“A warrior of liberation who has a body with the power of rubber, fights as she pleases, and brings smiles to people’s faces…aka Nika, the Sun God!” — Gorosei explains Nika’s power, One Piece Chapter 1044

Afterwards, Luffy greatly enhanced his power, and thanks to his awakening, the pinnacle of his power called Gear 5, he was able to overwhelm even the likes of Kaido in battle. In Egghead, Luffy was able to best Robb Lucci and easily overpower Admiral Kizaru. Apparently, Eiichiro Oda used Luffy as an example to show how powerful the legendary Devil Fruit is.

Now in Elbaf Arc one piece officially introduced three legendary Devil Fruits, the first of which was Ryu Ryunomi (model: Nidhoggr), who was officially introduced in Chapter 1175 of One Piece, Issue 14 of Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump on March 2, 2026. Ryuryunomi (model: Nidhoggr) was protected by Elbaf for centuries until Loki consumed it 14 years ago. Nidhoggr is officially called Legendary and grants him the power of a giant black dragon, said to be the largest in the world. This giant black dragon can control lightning on a scale that can destroy entire worlds, making it a wondrous force of nature that no one can match in battle. The Nidhoggr Devil Fruit was previously wielded by the warrior god of Elbaf, and is not only a legendary devil fruit, but also a divine devil fruit.

“There is a legend in Elbaf about a warrior god. He wielded a weapon called Ragnir, the Iron Lightning, and transformed into a giant dragon to fight against the Sun God!! He fought alongside his trusty and loyal ice squirrel named Ratatosk.” — Elder Jarul explains the power of Nidhoggr. One Piece Episode 1175

Following Ryu Ryunomi, models Nidhogr and Eiichiro Oda also revealed the power of Nero and Imu's Devil Fruit. The Devil Fruit first appeared in episode 1179 of One Piece in the 19th issue of Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump, released on April 5, 2026. This devil fruit is implied to be the most powerful in the world of One Piece, as it grants Imu the ability to become a demon god and utilize two major abilities.

  1. The rule of a god who can use abilities like Domi Reversi to make contracts with people, force them, or turn them into slave soldiers.

  2. Omen or Maki is a black flame that grants Imu tremendous offensive and defensive abilities in battle.

Lastly, there is Ririsunomi, Model: Ratatosk, officially classified as a legendary Devil Fruit, confirmed in One Piece Chapter 1182, released on May 10, 2026, in Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 24. This devil fruit is wielded by Ragnir, the hammer of the former warrior god of Elbaf, who is believed to have been killed by Nero or Imu a long time ago. After the death of the warrior god, the spirit of Ratatosk the Ice Squirrel resided within his hammer Ragnir, guarding the Devil Fruit ever since until Loki eventually consumed it. Now Ragnir fights alongside Loki, further enhancing his already formidable lightning powers, as clearly seen in the epic clash between Loki and Nerona Imu.

Imu: Ragnir!! You are just as I remember you, always waiting for a new owner. How nostalgic!!

After 4 years, One Piece finally prepares a new Haki for Luffy

Luffy is working on getting a new Haki upgrade that could put him in the same league as Shanks in One Piece's Final Saga.

Why the Elbaf Finale is a battle of gods wielding the legendary Devil Fruit

Clash of Gods One Piece Elbaf

Obviously, the climax of Elbaf is a battle of gods wielding all kinds of legendary and divine powers. Now, Loki, wielding the power of Elbaf's god of war, is clashing with the demon gods Nero and Imu, and along with him, the legendary squirrel Ratatosk appears. Ratatoskr wields immense power and is powerful enough to rival the Yonko on his own.

And then there's Monkey D. Luffy, who is currently consuming a huge amount of food, aiming to stock up on enough energy before going into battle with Imu. These four god-level characters are in an all-out battle at the climax of the Elbaf arc, making it one of the most amazing battles in the entire story, and we're really looking forward to seeing how it ends.

One Piece also has a lineup of potential Rain God Zaza Devil Fruits.

Rain God Zaza Devil Fruit One Piece Elbaf

At the same time, it can be said that Eiichiro Oda is also preparing other legendary devil fruits that will be released after the Elbaf arc. The first of them is Hito Hitonomi, model: Zaza. This Devil Fruit was officially established by Saint Killingham in One Piece Chapter 1182 on May 10, 2026. Killingham confirmed that along with the sun god Nika, the Celestial Dragons also fear the Rain God Zaza due to his ability to manipulate rain and dump water over their heads. All heavenly dragons are afraid of the people of D., the sun god Nika and, finally, the rain god Zaza. This means that, like Nika, this Devil Fruit is either owned by someone in the One Piece world or is waiting for someone else to eat it.

“We were born higher than the rain clouds. Water falling from the sky? It’s a mysterious fear! After the D and Nika people, the most common thing that warned us was the boogeyman… In the underworld, a monster called the Rain God is spraying water over our heads!” — Saint Killingham explains Rain God Zaza, Chapter 1182 of One Piece.

Along with Jar Jar, forest gods and earth gods also exist in the world of One Piece, but it is currently unclear who possesses these abilities. Over time, other legendary Devil Fruits will also be revealed by the author, and I'm very excited to see which characters will have these abilities at their disposal and what role they will play in the story later.
