The Marineford Summit War is one of the defining moments. one piece. This marked the end of one pirate era and the beginning of another. Hundreds of pirates and marines died during the war, including Whitebeard and Portgas D. Ace. one piece Creator Eiichiro Oda has a penchant for not killing off characters, and this was on full display in Marineford, as several characters should not have survived the war.
most one piece The characters who shouldn't have survived Marineford are the pirates who found themselves in the middle of the battlefield. In that case, the former admiral should also have fallen. Many of these characters suffered life-threatening injuries but survived thanks to their plot armor. One character in particular survived because he ate a devil fruit that countered all sword attacks.

squad
Squad was neither a Yonko Commander nor the most powerful reality altering Devil Fruit power, but he was still a notorious pirate of the New World. He is the captain of the Maelstrom Spider Pirates and fought on Whitebeard's side during the Marineford Summit War. The Squad believed Akainu's lie that Whitebeard sold everyone to save Ace and decided to stab the legendary pirate in the chest. Whitebeard may have forgiven him, but one piece The fans didn't.
The Squad suffered no injuries in the war, a testament to their skills, but sacrificing themselves to protect Whitebeard while fighting Akainu may have been the right thing to do. Story-wise, it would have made sense considering how terrible he felt. It would also have been a saving death. There was no need to keep him alive, as Squad has not been seen or mentioned since.

Joe's
Jozu has been on Whitebeard's crew for decades and is perhaps the most underrated Yonko commander. one piece. Not only does he have an impressive arsenal of Haki, but he also has the power of the Twinkle Fruit, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that makes him immune to most physical damage. Jozu can turn his body into diamond, which makes him durable enough to block Dracule Mihawk's attacks.
Jozu was the captain of the 3rd division and fought against Doflamingo and Crocodile during the summit. At one point, Jozu confronted Admiral Aokiji, who used his Logia abilities to freeze Jozu in ice. Jozu fell and broke his left arm. The problem here is that Joju's entire body should have shattered when it hit the ground. Nico Robin was scheduled to die in a similar manner when he was frozen by Aokiji. Jozu should have lost more than his arm since he only survived because Luffy saved him.

Akainu
Currently Commander of the Fleet, Akainu is recognized as one of the most powerful Marines in the Final Saga, although he was still an Admiral during the Marineford Summit War. Akainu is the man who killed Ace, which caused Luffy to fall into a catatonic state of grief. On the other hand, Whitebeard tried to kill Akainu with his bare hands to avenge Ace. Akainu is a Logia user who can transform into Magma thanks to the Magma Fruit.
Logia's intangibility is the only reason Akainu appears to have survived a direct hit from Whitebeard's powerful seismic punch. Despite this intangibility, Akainu was seriously injured. Whitebeard's Quake Punch has the power to destroy an entire island, so even a Marine Admiral would not be able to land a direct hit. Akainu will have a role in the Final Saga that explains why he survived, but if the Marines lost anyone important during the war, it should have been Akainu who suffered the most.

Jinbe
Jinbe officially joined the Straw Hat Pirates in the Wano arc. It's a good thing the plan was always to make him part of the crew, because technically he should have died near the end of the Summit War. Not long after Ace's death, Admiral Akainu attempted to kill the defenseless Luffy, but Jinbe appeared just in time to block Akainu's fatal magma punch.
Jinbe was the strongest fishman in the world during the war, and his armed Haki was very powerful. However, he somehow blocked Akainu's attack with his bare hands. This attack pierced Ace's Logia body and Whitebeard's body, but only Jinbe's hand was burned. When Jinbe tried to escape with Luffy, Akainu succeeded in blowing a hole in Jinbe's body with magma. According to the location, Jinbe's heart and lungs should have been destroyed, but the injuries were nothing more than life-threatening.

kobe
Of all the Marines with the highest potential, Kobe has the brightest future, but that future was all but extinguished by Akainu at the end of the war. Ace and Whitebeard were already dead, Luffy and Jinbe were no longer a threat, and the Whitebeard Pirates had lost the will to fight. Akainu wanted to continue the war, but Kobe interfered to end the bloodshed.
Akainu believes in absolute justice. That means he's willing to kill his fellow Marines if they get in his way. Coby was prepared to die from Akainu's magma punch, but Shanks appeared just in time and blocked him with his sword. This was a cool moment for Shanks, but seeing him literally appear out of thin air with the rest of the crew felt like plot armor for Koby. Sure, Koby plays a role in the Final Saga, but if it weren't for Shank's miraculous appearance, he would have died.
3
buggy
Buggy is probably one of the weakest pirates. one pieceHowever, he continues to fail upwards and is now a Yonko. He went to Marineford with Luffy to repay them for freeing him from Impel Down, but he also wanted to continue to impress the prisoners who followed him. Anyway, Buggy left the war safely, and was then invited by the Seven Lords.
During the war, Luffy captured Buggy and used it as a human shield against Mihawk, the world's greatest swordsman. The buggy is one of the few one piece These are characters who saved their lives by unintentionally eating the Devil Fruit. Chop-Chop Fruit is immune to all slashing attacks, so when Mihawk slashed at him, his body was safely split in two. Luffy throws Buggy's upper body at Mihawk, who performs several high-speed slashes. Chop-Chop Fruit saved Buggy's life by breaking him into more pieces. If it had been anyone else, Mihawk would have finished them off.
2
Marco
Marco was the captain of Whitebeard's 1st Division and the right-hand man of the legendary pirate. He fought on the same level as Marine Corps Admiral Kizaru, who could fire explosive lasers thanks to the Twinkle Fruit. Marco ate the Bird-Bird Fruit, Model: Phoenix, a mythical animal-like Devil Fruit that can transform into a phoenix. It also grants amazing healing properties.
The Twinkle Fruit is one of the few Devil Fruits that can compete with Marco. This was proven late in the Summit War when Kizaru shot him in the back three times. Although Marco was able to heal, he was still shot in the heart and intestines. After nullifying the Devil Fruit with his seastone cuffs, Kizaru shot Marco twice more. The shot should have killed Marco, but instead temporarily knocked him out.

1
gecko moria
The Seven Warlords all possessed special powers, and Gekko Moria gained the ability to control shadows thanks to the Shadow-Shadow Fruit. He responded to the World Government's summons and fought alongside the Marine Corps during the Summit War. Moria overpowered many of the pirates during the battle, seriously wounding the already wounded Little Oars Jr. by impaling him with a giant shadow.
Later in the war, Moria was briefly knocked out by Jinbe, who knocked him out with a single punch. At the end of the war, Moria was seriously injured by Doflamingo, another warlord who was ordered to kill Moria for being too weak. Somehow, Moria survived Doflamingo's attack without using Haki and escaped Marineford. Moria has done his part in the series, so it makes no sense to keep him. Especially since in his last appearance he was easily defeated by Blackbeard and disappeared again.
