The Arc Raiders player base fell another 50% due to backlash.

Arc Raiders was one of the biggest games of 2025, reaching a massive peak player count of 482,000. The game dominated social media and was touted as one of the best live service games released in recent years. They should have kept going to achieve greatness, but in less than a year, over 90% of those players had moved on.

Just two months ago, we reported that Arc Raider was struggling to hit 100,000 players just four months after launch. High player churn is common for live service games, but losing 80% of your players over that period of time is not a good sign.

Arc Raider: Best Weapon

Your goals can only take you so far.

Things haven't improved much since then. The Arc Raiders seemed to have stabilized at around 90,000 players for most of May, thanks largely to Riven Tides, but that didn't last long. As of this writing, another 50% of the PC game's player base appears to have upped the stick and disappeared, with the game's peak player count in the last 24 hours reaching 49,877.

Arc Raiders are still hemorrhaging players heavily.

To make matters worse, there are currently only 31,544 players in the game at the time of this writing, so it looks like that number is still dropping. So the decline shows no signs of slowing down.

The Arc Raiders subreddit makes it clear what the real cause of the problem is: it's simply a lack of content. Players are complaining that they are exhausted, have no projects to work on, and the event schedule is terrible. This is a game to rave about for more loyal players, and with the next big update still four months away, I wonder if Arc Raiders will ever be able to bounce back.
