A recent Kingdom Hearts 4 gameplay trailer gave a brief introduction to the new Keyblade, and fans believe it's teasing the inclusion of either Moana or the Elemental.
I went into every game showcase because I wanted to see a little bit of Kingdom Hearts 4. So, naturally, it showed up in yesterday's Nintendo Direct when no one expected it. The long-awaited second trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4 still only focuses on the Quadratum, but it gave us our best look at the game yet.
Kingdom Hearts fans have been eagerly awaiting news about KH4 for years. That means we're completely tearing through and analyzing new footage to find out everything we can about the game. One of the most interesting points of discussion at the moment is the new Keyblade, which is shown very briefly and appears to be a hint at an unannounced Disney universe.
Kingdom Hearts 4 Keyblade may hint at Elemental or Moana.
Moana is such an obvious choice that I pray it becomes the default.
In the section of the Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer that focuses on showing off combat, Sora is shown using a new Keyblade themed around fire and water. Kingdom Hearts has original Keyblades that aren't related to the Disney world, but they do come from Keyblades in general and serve as a good hint as to where Sora can travel before the world is revealed.
So far, there are two very clear front runners as to where this Keyblade comes from. The first and better choice is Elemental. This makes perfect sense since it is all about fire and water. The Keyblade's design is also reminiscent of the glass design created by Ember, and Twitter user RealNishi points out that the attack effect even resembles the Vivisteria flower from the movie.
It's a little difficult to see the keychain closely, but I think it looks much closer to Elemental than to Moana.
Things get a little more complicated when you consider that the Keyblade's “build” attacks are mostly focused on the lava formations, which is where Moana supposedly is. Te Kā is all about magma and lava in the film, and the theme of water rising against fire means this Keyblade could fit in well with Moana as well. Elemental, on the other hand, had no lava or magma of any kind.
It's too early to tell right now which of the two films is being hinted at as the world of Kingdom Hearts 4, but it seems to be a little more in line with Elemental overall. There's also the possibility that it's a completely original Keyblade. ~ no Since it's tied to Disney World, we'll have to wait until we finally hear specifics about where Sora will be visiting.

Don't worry. Square Enix hasn't forgotten about Kingdom Hearts.
I can't cope. You're just getting new high scores.
