From the striking 2D art design to the mythology-inspired narrative premise; Rattan It's definitely a love letter to the original. patapong game, fills a comfortable role as its spiritual successor. But it's not just a basic reinterpretation of the original idea; patapong trilogy, Rattan We're experimenting, building externally, and ostensibly taking inspiration from people like: brightness– Roguelike style.
Rattan It launches on all platforms on July 16, 2025, but will be available in Early Access on Steam starting September 18, 2025.

Gameplay is basically similar to this: patapongIt's the same too. in RattanPlayers command an army of small creatures called Cobuns during battle. Commands are given through musical beats, with the various buttons on the gamepad being associated with different beats of the drums. It's an interesting mix of rhythm game and real-time strategy, infused with roguelike mechanics. Rattan It could be much more distinct than before.
Is Ratatan a roguelike version of Patapon?
Many gamers are becoming a bit wary and jaded about the roguelike genre, and I can't say I blame them. despite hades 2 and Slay the Spire 2 I'm feeling a bit skeptical about roguelikes these days, as they've been one of my favorite games of the past few years. For better or worse, roguelikes are a huge trend, and one that's more prevalent than battle royale or forced multiplayer modes due to their appeal in the indie scene. When something is this omnipresent, it's natural to feel a little cynical.
but RattanThe roguelike system actually makes some sense. The best roguelikes are games based on instantly addictive and satisfying gameplay. How does Ratatan look so far?
