Fairy Tail returns in Re:Fantasia and continues its 100-year quest.
Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest Although it's been running for several years now, the franchise is set to expand further later this year. To mark the 20th anniversary of the series, it was announced that the Fairy Tail manga, illustrated and written by Hiro Mashima, would be returning. The title of this new manga series is 'Fairy Tail Re:Fantasia' and is scheduled to be released on July 29, 2026 in the 35th issue of Kodansha Weekly Shonen Magazine. This is interesting, and we don't yet know what this new comic will cover, but hints suggest it will be about Laxus. Fans are still hoping to see Natsu and Lucy together in a short serial, and Hiro Mashima could potentially move towards that in this story.
Of course, other characters will appear as well, but it's unlikely that it will simply be a romance-based spinoff. Nonetheless, Fairy Tail's return is highly anticipated and could lead to more projects in the future, including more spinoffs, as it's always nice to see Hiro Mashima return to his first hit.
