The Mangekyou Sharingan came to the forefront as one of the most incredibly powerful abilities introduced in the Naruto series, but as the years passed, its importance and power began to fade compared to all the other abilities introduced to the world at the time. Debuted with Sarada's 'Ohirume'. V jump Issue 5, May 20, 2025, contains the power to create and manipulate black holes. This powerful eye jutsu allows Sarada to create up to four powerful black holes of any size she can freely control. At the same time, she can easily choose who is targeted by the black hole and who is avoided, giving her full control over the gravity of this technique. Coming at you like gravity itself, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapters 21 and 30 showcased enough firepower to take down Otsutsuki-level enemies. Sarada Uchiha defeated Ryu Shinju in one fell swoop in episode 21 of Boruto: Blue Whirlpool, released in V JUMP Issue #6 on June 20, 2025.

Later in the Mamushi arc, Sarada utilized this power once again to take down about 20 of Mamushi's clones in one fell swoop. Keeping in mind that each of Mamushi's clones is as powerful as Otsutsuki in the Boruto series, Sarada's overall abilities at this point are enormous. This shows that Mangekyo Sharingan is once again one of the best factions and received a massive upgrade in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.

Why Sarada's Mangekyou Sharingan surpasses Sasuke's Rinnegan
Sarada's Mangekyou Sharingan possesses tremendous power, but its potential can only be understood by comparing it directly to Sasuke's Rinnegan. Despite the latter ability being much more special, Sarada's Mangekyou Sharingan actually has the ability to rival it in combat and is even overwhelming in terms of attack output.
Sasuke's special ability in relation to the Rinnegan is Amenotejikara, which allows him to swap places with anything within a certain radius. This is an interesting supplementary ability, but not very powerful in the grand scheme of things. Meanwhile, Sarada's abilities are so strong that they can essentially take down something like Otsutsuki if not absorbed. Naturally, Sasuke's Rinnegan also has other Six Paths abilities, but they were left out of the Boruto series anyway given that he never utilizes them.

All things considered, Sarada's Mangekyo Sharingan is so powerful that it can practically be compared to the Rinnegan abilities from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex series.

Sarada's Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan has the potential to become the most overwhelming jutsu in Boruto
Sarada's Mangekyou Sharingan is incredibly powerful, but it also has a significant drawback: blindness. All Mangekyou Sharingan blind the user over time, but as confirmed by Sakura Haruno Boruto: Two Blue Swirls Chapter 34, The rate of blindness depends on the nature of the technology and how it is used. Sarada's skills are incredibly overwhelming in the Mangekyou Sharingan, blinding her much faster than any other user. In fact, Sarada has only utilized the Mangekyou Sharingan three times, but has already lost much of her vision. This shows that this power is not sustainable in the grand scheme of things.
“It appears that the prescription was wrong, as I thought. My eyesight has definitely deteriorated compared to before. It is an inevitable risk with the Mankyō Sharingan. The only way for Sarada to be able to use her eyes properly is to make the Mangekyou Sharingan permanent. In the series, no direct path is given for Sarada to achieve this. However, in time, she will gain access to the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. If that happens, Sarada's eye power will increase even further and she will reach a much higher level of power, equivalent to Hidari or Jura, and equivalent to Momoshiki or Ishiki Otsutsuki. The Mangekyo Sharingan is more dominant than ever in the Boruto series, and that's something we're excited about. Hopefully, Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto will continue to develop this eye jutsu even further, making it even more powerful so Sarada can continue to rival Boruto and Kawaki's power levels.
