The new Marvel fighting game isn't out yet, but it's already putting its rivals to shame.

Overwatch and its Marvel rivals have the same problems, and neither will solve them.

Whether you play Marvel Rivals or Overwatch, you face the same problem, and unfortunately I don't see that changing.

Marvel Rivals has no shortage of great villains to introduce.

Not only is the Marvel universe still full of popular heroes to add (Captain Marvel, Ghost Rider, and Nightcrawler haven't even appeared yet), but NetEase actually has dozens of great opportunities. Kang's time travel antics can make for a really fun ultimate that turns back time, reducing the ultimate cooldown and setting the fight itself back 30 seconds. If players lose a close team fight, they'll essentially get a chance to try again, doubling the intensity of the match as it involves a big scrap from the MCU's Multiverse Saga. Doctor Doom himself is an equally valid option, especially since he's the most important character. marvel rivals'He's a legend, but he's likely to be added along. But not every villain addition has to be an Avengers-level threat. There are a ton of X-Men villains that could make for fun additions. Juggernaut as an environment-destroying Vanguard seems like an obvious slam dunk, but Mystique could be a cool spy-like duelist character. Likewise, Spidey's gallery of iconic rogues offers plenty of options. Sandman's transformations allow him to essentially take on any role as Deadpool, Mysterio's illusions can confuse the enemy team, and Carnage can infect corpses to hurl AI-controlled attackers at the enemy team. Destroying the Green Goblin's glider to force him to the ground would make him a unique flying hero, while giving Doc Ock giant arms would make him a powerful vanguard.

Perhaps the strangest thing? marvel rivals' The villain gap is that Legends has established multiple villains that can act as playable characters. Symbiote God Knull can and should be more than a background character. Then there's Kingpin, who has a fully fleshed out moveset as he serves as a secret boss battle in Blood Hunt PvE mode.
