After 10 years, Naruto will be officially revived in 2027

Masashi Kishimoto naruto The series officially concluded as a manga in the 50th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on November 24, 2014. The anime continued with episode 500 just two years later, on March 23, 2017. naruto The franchise later continued with the Boruto series. However, the original story was interrupted by the end of the Fourth Ninja War, a brief timeskip, and Naruto's ascension to the Seventh Hokage.

Now, almost 10 years later, TV Tokyo will officially restart the Naruto franchise in 2027, as recently announced in its latest fiscal report release on May 19, 2026.

In its latest Q&A for its earnings call held on May 19, TV Tokyo officially confirmed that a Naruto comeback is in the cards to celebrate its 25th anniversary, scheduled for 2027 next year. The specifics of the comeback aren't entirely clear yet, but what we already know is that this comeback will take place in two forms: a game and a video project.

“We are celebrating our 25th anniversary [Naruto‘s] We are planning a number of projects to capture this as the beginning of a new phase. New projects, including videos and games developed with new partners, are planned for 2027 and beyond.”

A new Naruto game with a new partner will be released in 2027

New Naruto Game Coming in 2027

TV Tokyo confirmed something new. naruto The game is in development. Unlike the previous game, which was produced in collaboration with CyberConnect2 and Bandai, this game will be produced in collaboration with other partners. Exactly who will be involved is not yet known. The game is scheduled to release sometime in 2027, but more information about it will be revealed at a later date.

Historically, Naruto games have always proven to be a phenomenal experience for all fans, such as Storm 4, while Boruto games released in recent years have not been able to replicate the same heights. no way naruto A game going back to its roots would be exciting for any fan, especially one celebrating its 25th anniversary. More information about the game is expected to be released by the end of 2026, and fans are looking forward to a game that beautifully connects the stories of Naruto and Boruto while also expanding the world's story in potentially unique ways.

Most importantly, a new TV Tokyo report confirms that several new video projects are in the works to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Naruto franchise. It's unclear exactly what these video projects are. This could be a new Naruto anime set in the time skip between the end of the Fourth Grade Ninja War and the beginning of the Boruto era. Considering One Piece recently announced its own remake and Dragon Ball Super is also getting a remake around the same time, this could simply be a remake. As one of the biggest anime franchises in the world, Naruto could potentially get its own remake, which would also be very exciting for fans as it would breathe new life into the franchise.

There's a good chance that there will be a new Naruto movie, and I'd be happy if that happens. Naruto movies have always been hugely popular, and after the last one was released on August 7, 2015, it's time for the franchise to tap into its endless potential by producing another film.

Four special episodes of Naruto could be released by the end of 2026

Naruto Special Anniversary Episode 2026

The video project in question may simply refer to Naruto Episode 4, which was initially promised for 2023. Both Studio Pierrot and TV Tokyo advertised this fourth episode, but it was eventually pulled due to significant delays. A recent leak revealed that it is scheduled to air sometime in 2026, but no major information about these four new episodes has been revealed since. Presumably, the project has been delayed once again and is currently scheduled for a 2027 release to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Naruto series.

In either case, these four new episodes will be coming to fans soon, whether in late 2026 or 2027. This episode will take us back to the pre-Shippuden era of the Naruto series, giving us one more look at Team 7 from the past as they explore the ninja world and embark on various missions. I hope Studio Pierrot will deliver this batch of episodes soon, and after all this waiting, they will reach the highest standards both in terms of story writing and animation.

Full Naruto Revival 2027

According to TV Tokyo's latest financial report, Naruto is still the TV station's highest-grossing series almost a decade after it ended. Naruto's sequel, Boruto, took second place this year. Accordingly, TV Tokyo realized that it needed to invest more in the Naruto franchise and aim for revival. That's why a new Naruto game is scheduled for 2027, along with a new video project.

“It's kind of like a prayer. No matter what happens, you keep persevering until it comes true. And for the one who takes on the task… maybe that's what it means to be a ninja.” — Naruto Uzumaki's final message, episode 699

Whichever way you look at it, it's clear that the Naruto franchise is headed for a major resurgence in the future, and it's something we're very excited about. Fans would absolutely love to see the series' creator Masashi Kishimoto team up with the TV network and Studio Pierrot to deliver an original animation that continues Naruto's story after the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War. But that's just our hope as fans.

Another interesting approach is to simply re-animate the entire content. narutoThis time there is no filler, modern animation and better pacing. This game also cannot be underestimated. Especially since past Naruto games were incredibly popular and offered unparalleled experiences. With the franchise reaching such a huge milestone, fans are very excited to see what the next year will bring, and the stage is already being set for it.

All episodes of the Naruto series written by Masashi Kishimoto are currently available to watch on Crunchyroll.
