Skylines Studio Paradox Interactive Korea Ratings

We haven't even seen Lego Batman: The Dark Knight Legacy for a week, and we've already received some big hints about what the next Lego game will be. A game called Lego Skylines has just been reviewed and is released by the same studio as the Cities: Skylines games.

Unannounced LEGO Skyline game gets ratings in Korea

The game, called Lego Skylines, is one of the few new ratings to appear on the Korean ratings board discovered by Gematsu. Other than the game's name and publisher Paradox Interactive, there isn't much information to reveal at this early stage. Paradox is the same studio that released Cities: Skylines and its sequel, Cities: Skylines 2.

With Paradox as the publisher, the Skylines name strongly suggests that this unannounced game will be a Skylines city builder, with Lego bricks replacing the realistic materials that serve as the basis for the Cities games. The game offers incredibly in-depth city building, so hopefully we'll get the same level of detail in cities that can be built entirely with Lego.

A Skyline game from the Lego City brand would be better. The City Collection is one of the most popular LEGO lines that is not tied to any external IP. But if that were the case, you would have thought City would have been in the name of the game.

Who can develop LEGO Skylines?

What the ratings don't tell you is who exactly is participating in this new city-building LEGO game. Probably not TT Games, as the studio most synonymous with Lego games just wrapped up with Legacy of the Dark Knight. There's also no chance of Colossal Order, the developer of the Cities: Skylines games, since Paradox parted ways with the studio last year.

The most likely scenario is that Iceflake Studios has been developing a new LEGO-based Skyline game. Iceflake is the studio that handed over the reigns to Skylines after Paradox ended its relationship with the Colossal Order, and the new studio continues to develop updates for Skylines 2.

The Korean Rating Board began evaluating ratings starting this week. Persona 4 Revival also appears. Unlike LEGO Skylines, the Persona remake has no release date, although it has already been officially announced. What we see here has some people confident that we might get an update during the upcoming State of Play or Summer Game Fest. The same applies to Guardians of the Galaxy on Switch 2, which has now received a double rating after receiving a rating in Taiwan earlier this year.
