Battlefield 6: DMR Tier List

DMRs (or Designated Marksman Rifles) sit firmly between assault rifles and sniper rifles. Battlefield 6. It does not have the ability to fire single shots like a bolt-action rifle, and it cannot fire fully automatically like an AR. However, a skilled marksman can completely annihilate the enemy from a relatively safe distance, and even respond to hostile snipers if they are out of position.

Although the DMR is not as popular as other weapons, BF6It's still worth picking up if you prefer a playstyle that relies on positioning and careful aiming. In this guide, we rank all the DMRs in the game based on how well they perform in various scenarios.

Whether you're lying down covering fire or clearing a room under a hail of bullets, BF6 will have an LMG to suit your play style.

Updated May 24, 2026 by Marc Santos: BF6's DMR weapon classes have remained largely the same throughout the seasons, but with the advent of Season 3, we thought it was time to revisit this list and place it in line with the game's current tone regarding weapon balance. Especially since we can now use maps at both ends of the size scale.

BF6 Best DMR

  1. SVK 8.6
  2. M39 EMR
  3. SVDM
  4. GRT-CPS
  5. LMR27

SVK 8.6 is the best choice in this weapon category. Because of that ability It takes down a player with just two hits to the body.. It rewards players who can take the shots, and is suited to the mid- to long-range engagements you'd expect from a large-bore semi-automatic marksman rifle.

but, Other DMRs BF6 It's actually not that far behind SVK in terms of raw performance. However, it would be wrong to call SVK the best on all maps, as weapon strength is largely determined by engagement range. BF6. DMRs with a faster rate of fire tend to be more powerful in close range combat, while DMRs with a slower rate of fire excel at longer range combat.

SVK 8.6

As mentioned above, SVK 8.6 provides the following features: Kills any target within 200 meters with two shots to the body. — This makes a weapon Very easy to use compared to other DMRs. (More on this later.) You don't need to score headshots to get the most effective results. Despite the slow rate of fire of 150 RPM, the optimal body shot TTK is still 0.4 seconds, the same as the LMR27 and SVDM.

SVK has one notable drawback. The handling is poor. This rifle's ADS time and reload speed take a long time to complete, and when combined with poor hipfire accuracy and slow rate of fire, You end up with a terrible gun at close range. Additionally, SVK cannot kill enemies in one hit unless using Hollow Point ammo. The one-shot range is only about 10 meters.. Other DMRs can achieve faster TTKs by scoring headshots, but the same cannot be said for SVKs unless you're willing to sacrifice attachment points for hollow points while using the gun at worst engagement distances.

M39 EMR

We originally ranked the M39 EMR as the third best DMR in the world. BF6, But after investing some more time, I decided to take it up a notch over SVDM for one simple reason. The M39 EMR is a much safer option despite its slightly slower TTK. Let me explain.

The M39 EMR's standard 20-round magazine allows you to throw more bullets at someone without having to reload, which results in every bullet missing. While the extra 10 rounds when engaging in close combat allows you to spam more and potentially win more fights against multiple targets, SVDM will often run out of ammo by the time the second or third enemy appears.

However, it cannot be overemphasized how similar the M39 and SVDM are in terms of performance. The former is a safer and more convenient option, while the latter is for experienced players who can make the most of fewer bullets.

SVDM

The SVDM is a DMR with a faster rate of fire compared to the SVK and M39, but it does less damage, so you'll need to fire 3 body shots or 2 headshots to take someone down. I originally rated this higher than the M39, but after more experience with the SVDM I found the M39 to be more reliable at all ranges despite its slower rate of fire.

Where SVDM truly excels is not in its specific maps, but in its specific playstyles. This rifle rewards players who can flank the enemy front line and take out their targets without raising the alarm. Also in BF6 On maps like Empire State, the SVDM performs better than the M39 due to its faster rate of fire. This is even more noticeable in Hagental Base, where players with SVDM can monitor the hallways and take down enemies before they peak from cover.

aftermarket buffer attachment BF6 Season 3 can be mounted on both SVDM and M39. Using this reduces visual recoil and, especially on these DMRs, there is a noticeable reduction in reticle bounce when equipped with an aftermarket buffer.

GRT-CPS

GRT-CPS is in a slightly awkward position. Like the LMR27 below, this weapon requires at least 4 bullets to take down an enemy.. Unlike the DMR above, GRT-CPS is designed to: Spamming bullets at rangeThis makes it the most forgiving of the rifles.

The four-round damage profile of this weapon is undoubtedly attractive enough to compare favorably with the LMR27, but what the GRT-CPS has over the latter is: The default magazine size is 20 rounds.. This alone makes GRT-CPS superior to LMR27 in terms of real-world usage. Even though it's far from the best DMR. BF6. You won't win a head-to-head gunfight with this rifle, but you can certainly get a lot of value out of it if you utilize it to its full potential.

Changes to the M277 carbine in Seasons 2 and 3 made the GRT-CPS even more redundant. The M277 performs up to 75 meters (where GRT-CPS works best) and is even better at shorter ranges.

LMR27

We previously called the LMR27 a cruel weapon joke. BF6, And it's still just not the way anyone expects. This gun takes four shots to kill a person. (3 if you hit a headshot) — This may sound bad, but the optimal bodyshot TTK is the same as SVK and SVDM, so it's actually not that big of a deal. The real kicker here is the LMR27's small magazine size of 10 bullets.Reload time is painfully slow at 2.8 seconds. Without perfect accuracy, you're unlikely to be able to take down more than one enemy per magazine, and the downtime between reloads is so long that it's hard not to feel uncomfortable using the gun.

However, the LMR27 has some nice things:

  • The LMR27 maintains accuracy at close range even while shooting and strafing.

  • The gun's basic hipfire accuracy is good.

  • It starts with Bipod.

BF6 LMR27 Bipod
Battlefield 6 LMR27 Bipod

Although I wouldn't recommend using the LMR27 for close-range, head-on duels, it's still nice to know that the gun can accurately hit things even while it's moving. But the best part about LMR27 is The only difference is that it comes with a pre-installed bipod. The gun's damage may be low, but when placed with a bipod, you can essentially fire the trigger without worrying about recoil. Ironically, with the bipod deployed, The LMR27 is the easiest DMR to use over long distances. It beats SVK in terms of ease of use (at least by default).

yet, The LMR27's disadvantages far outweigh its advantages.Especially when you consider that one of these benefits is something that other DMRs end up getting. Sure, it has good close range DMR capabilities, but it's hard to justify using this for CQB when the M277 carbine exists, and while the LMR27 has a 20-round magazine option for better long-range engagements, you're better off using the M250 LMG at that point.
