Ocarina Of Time Leaks Will Make Nintendo “Pull Their Hair Out”

It's been quite a couple of weeks since I became a Nintendo fan. Not only did we recently get a glimpse of the Super Mario Galaxy movie, but a series of leaks from our trusted insider NateTheHate and other outlets have got a lot of us excited. That's because Nate claimed that a new Star Fox game would be released, just like the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

It was pretty big news at the time. It was specifically about Ocarina of Time, and it was proven accurate very quickly after Nintendo announced the surprise reveal of a remake of Star Fox 64 earlier this month. Nintendo is clearly seething about this too, as another insider revealed that the decision to give Star Fox 64 Remake a surprise reveal was specifically to spoil Nate.

A random YouTube comment that Star Fox and Zelda claimed suggests a Super Metroid remake has been confirmed.

Someone who recently made claims about Star Fox and Ocarina just days before it was officially leaked also hinted at a Super Metroid remake.

Now that the dust has settled around Star Fox, people have rightly pointed out that this pretty much confirms that there are plans to release an Ocarina of Time remake this year, and pretty much ruins any surprises Nintendo had planned. According to former Nintendo marketing executives Kit and Krysta, Nintendo was likely upset about this.

Nintendo hates the lack of the element of surprise.

In the duo's latest video on their YouTube channel (thanks to GamesRadar), they discuss the recent Star Fox 64 Remake announcement and what it means for Nintendo's future. According to Kit, Nintendo is probably very annoyed that there's no more element of surprise when the company's plans for this year and even 2027 have clearly been leaked.

“If you were Nintendo, you would definitely be pulling your hair out over this as if it were the worst-case scenario,” Ellis said. “You’re a company that trusts amazing people. As we’ve seen over and over again, surprise is a key factor in why presentations are impactful and effective.”

He also added that while Nintendo goes to great lengths to keep big game announcements surprising and hyped, it's been “removed” from them for a long time and the company is probably seething about it. It also makes sense if you remember how much hype there was surrounding the addition to Super Smash Bros. It's a company that thrives on suspense, and while it's still interesting to see what this Ocarina of Time remake will look like, the surprise will likely be lost a bit when the next Direct releases.
