If you're looking for more reasons to play Sonic Frontiers, it looks like Sega is gearing up to give you just that reason with its acclaimed and very well-selling 3D Sonic title. After a rating leak pointed to a “Definitive Edition” for Sonic Frontiers, the game has received a price cut and new description on Steam.
That said, there is more evidence that some sort of resurfacing is underway.
As first discovered by My Nintendo News, the Steam page via SteamDB has received several updates, including asset changes and the following new description:
Sonic Frontiers is a groundbreaking open-zone action-adventure game set on the ancient Starfall Islands. Join Sonic as he battles countless powerful enemies, explores the mysteries of the island, and rescues his friends in an all-new combat system!
The title's base price is now $39.99 instead of the usual $59.99, and the deluxe edition is $49.99.
Ultimately, only time will tell what Sega announces, but as first reported by Gematsu last March, “Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition” has been evaluated by the Korea Game Rating Board, Korea's version of the ESRB or PEGI system.

Luma from Mario Wonder is a useful sidekick. I always wanted Tails to be in Sonic 2.
Mario Wonder's playable Luma actually helps you out in the way my 4-year-old self expected Tails to do in Sonic 2.
For what it's worth, Sonic titles are no strangers to updated issues of some kind, and this makes even more sense considering Frontiers was A) well-received and B) has DLC.
Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition may not be the only Sonic title coming soon.
Oddly enough, Frontiers isn't the only Sonic title making headlines recently, as Sega has renewed the trademark for Sonic Forces. If Frontiers is one of the best-reviewed titles in Sonic history, Forces is arguably the worst-reviewed title.
The title, which was known to have been scrapped since 2019, was recently renewed in the United States. The second renewal took place in Japan, and may have something to do with the mobile title.
So far, unlike Frontiers and Definitive Edition, there has been nothing reported to indicate that the Forces are making a return. Ultimately, it can't be more than just staying up to date with your trademark.
Never say never about Sega and Sonic the Hedgehog though.

The difficulty-forgiving Vampire Crawler may be the best thing about it.
I can't stop playing. Please help.
