Each character episode Dragon Ball: Spark! zero Players can experience part of that character's storyline. These generally follow the stories of Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, but there are places where they can change events and potentially branch out the canon timeline entirely.

Limiting Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's DLC to playable characters would be a huge missed opportunity
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is currently limiting most of its DLC plans to roster growth, but there's another approach that has tremendous potential.
How to Get Sparking Episodes: Guidance from the Mentors of Dragon Ball: Sparking! zero
Helpfully, accessing this Sparking Episode is quite easy. You should reach the beginning of the Android Saga and choose to help Goku in Android 19 when prompted. This starts a chain reaction that causes Piccolo and Gohan to train together in the Time Chamber and ultimately face Cell at the Cell Games.
All battles on this route are very simple. The only dangerous fight against Perfect Cell is because Perfect Cell is a very active and dangerous opponent, actively and regularly disappearing from combos. He is aggressive, utilizing his super and ultimate attacks to inflict massive damage. Throughout this route, you'll fight in Cell's Semi-Perfect, Perfect, and finally Super Perfect Form. But the latter two fights are where he gets tricky.
For this route, it can be helpful to have a solid understanding of Piccolo's moveset. Because it makes a lot of battles easier. In your battle with Android 19, you'll be using the same moveset you used throughout the Saiyan Saga and Namek Saga, along with the incredibly powerful Paralyze Beam and All-Out Skill. All-Out is especially useful. You can enter Spark mode without charging Ki first, which will help Piccolo take Android 19 by storm.
After fusing with Kami, Piccolo gains a new moveset and his previous Ultimate Attack, Special Beam Cannon, becomes a Super Attack instead. This can be used to deal massive damage at the end of a combo that fires a target, but unfortunately the All-Out Skill is replaced by the weaker False Courage Skill, which boosts Piccolo's defenses.
Wild Sense helps you counter incoming rush combos, and Light Grenade is another powerful burst super that can be used to end combos or snipe enemies while they're charging (but there's a pretty good chance they'll block once they see you). .) Piccolo's new Ultimate Attack, Hellzone Grenade, deals massive damage and is surprisingly easy to connect. Ideally, you should fire it before your opponent uses it, or throw it when your opponent rushes in to catch it.
Notes on different branching paths
Piccolo can also run other, smaller, branching paths throughout the game. Typically this is achieved by quickly defeating the opponent he needs to fight, such as Third Form Freiza. These either lead directly to a short ending or quickly converge back to the canon timeline after small changes.
