Pokemon TCG: Pitch Black is said to have adopted the Japanese Abyss Eye set featuring Mega Darkrai.
According to a new report from PokeBeach, the ongoing Mega Evolution era is expected to continue with another set called Pitch Black. The English version is said to be based on the Abyss Eye expansion pack that The Pokemon Company released in Japan on April 17th. The full Abyss Eye card list hasn't been released yet, but one of the chase cards could be the Mega Darkrai ex already confirmed for the set. Equipped with a powerful Night Raid attack and an Abyss Eye ability that instantly KOs, the Mega Darkrai ex is PokemonTCGThis is the most powerful EX card in recent years.
Mega Darkrai EX's basic attack, Night Raid, consumes 2 basic dark energy and deals 110 damage. However, if the player has a benched Pokemon with a damage counter, the damage is doubled. Since this condition is relatively easy to meet, Attack can make the card a powerful option in most stages of a match, except for the early game. Meanwhile, Abyss Eye adds utility by giving Mega Darkrai ex a 3-energy instant KO move that works on any opponent affected by the special condition.

The English name for the Abyss Eye set is not a new invention, considering that Darkrai is already known as the “Pitch-Black” Pokémon in the series' lore. The next Western set after Pitch Black will likely be based on Storm Emerald, a Mega Rayquaza-themed expansion that releases in Japan on July 31st.
