There are 4 Magic: The Gathering Still set to launch in 2026, there's major news about three: Wizards of the Coast has confirmed the release dates for the next three sets and also revealed additional information, including card previews, during MagicCon Vegas.
Now we know exactly when we'll get our hands on Marvel Super Heroes, The Hobbit, and the highly anticipated Reality Fracture. Each set is scheduled for pre-release a week in advance, confirming its originally planned date.
Release Dates Confirmed for 3 Huge MTG Sets
Yes, even down to the finer details. Marvel Super Heroes has confirmed its release date as Friday, June 26, 2026. The Prerelease takes place a week ago, on June 19th.
The Hobbit has a confirmed release date of Friday, August 14, 2026, and is scheduled for pre-release once again a week earlier, on August 7.
Lastly, the release date for the large-scale space set Reality Fracture is confirmed for Friday, October 2, 2026, with a pre-release date of September 25.
An MTG Arena release date for this set has not yet been confirmed. However, they usually release on the Tuesday between the pre-release date and the official release date, so keep that in mind.
What else did you learn at MagicCon Vegas?
We've gotten previews of cards for each of these three sets, and the most has been revealed for The Hobbit. This is especially true if fans are still enamored with the secrets of Strixhaven, considering we've already had a prologue preview window for Marvel Super Heroes and Reality Fracture is too far along to show off too much.
We also got the full product lineup for each set, and the only surprise in this news was that there wasn't a Commander deck from the Hobbit set. Instead, a new co-op experience will be released in 2027 and will also use The Hobbit license.
What about Star Trek?
It's been great to hear all this exciting news about the next three MTG sets, but I've been wondering why I haven't heard anything about Star Trek, which is scheduled to be the final set in 2026.
The tentative release date for this Universes Beyond set is November 13th, but little is known about it other than a few pieces of art on a placeholder page.
Fear not, Trekkies, it's likely a case of Wizards of the Coast keeping some reveals in their pocket for a future MagicCon event, and Star Trek will still get a dedicated preview window and release a video when the time comes.
