Mouse P.I. for Hire Side Job Tips

Here are a few things that players should know about the Mouse PI side jobs:

1. All the side jobs except for two (Between Alpha and Omega and Mouseburg Confidential) start in the P.I. Office area.
2. A portrait of the NPC that starts the side job should appear on the compass at the top of the screen when one is available. However, Tammy’s portrait may not always appear when she has a side quest, and players should know when her optional jobs (Show Some Culture Jack, Blueprints Please, Poster Girl, and Behind the Nuts) are unlocked to avoid missing them.
3. All the side jobs are missable, as they can only be completed when working on an associated main job. If you complete a main job without addressing the connected side job, you will miss it.

Side Job #1 Show Some Culture Jack

• Main Job: Gumshoe in the Opera
• Location: Mouseburg Opera
• Start Location: Tammy Tumbler (P.I. Office – Outside Soup to Nuts)
• Completion Requirement: Take a picture of the audience
• Completion Requirement Location: Opera box during the escape from the opera house
• Reward: 100 Coins

After receiving the Gumshoe in the Opera main job, talk to Tammy outside Soup to Nuts (P.I. Office area) to start the Show Some Culture Jack side job.

While escaping from the burning opera, your path through a hallway will be blocked by the falling ceiling. Enter the opera box on your left, approach the edge, and photograph the audience. Return to Tammy to earn 100 coins.

Side Job #2 Blueprints Please

• Main Job: Cheeseball Sub
• Location: Old Subway
• Start Location: Tammy Tumbler (P.I. Office – Tammy’s Bearings)
• Completion Requirement: Collect the interesting blueprints
• Completion Requirement Location: In a suspended subway car in the room past the locked door next to the final typewriter.
• Reward: 2 Schematics

After receiving the Cheeseball Sub main job, talk to Tammy in Tammy’s Bearings (P.I. Office area) to start the Blueprints Please side job.

Play through the level until you reach the last typewriter, which is next to a door with a lock. Tailpick the door, flip the switch in the room inside, and use Tail-a-Choppa to ride the current of the fan upward. Enter the suspended subway car to find the interesting blueprints location, and return to Tammy to earn two Schematics.

Side Job #3 The Things We Keep

• Main Job: “Once Upon a Time…” By Tinsel Bros
• Location: Tinsel Ave
• Start Location: Wanda Fuller (P.I. Office – Inside Little & Big)
• Completion Requirement: Collect the Letter to Wanda
• Completion Requirement Location: On a bookshelf in the southwest corner of the family show set, the second set in the theater with the kitchen, seating area, and tables.
• Reward: 150 Coins

Once you receive the “Once Upon a Time…” By Tinsel Bros main job, talk to Wanda inside the Little & Big bar (P.I. Office area) to start The Things We Keep side job and track down the Letter to Wanda.

Play through the level until you reach the theater. The family show set is the second set, and it has a kitchen, a seating area, and several tables. The Letter to Wanda is on the bookshelf in the southwest corner. Return it to Wanda to earn 150 coins.

Side Job #4 They Call it Azurro Burgerro

• Main Job: A Bit of Curd and Pepper
• Location: Opera Ruins
• Start Location: John Brown (P.I. Office – Inside Little & Big)
• Completion Requirement: Fry John’s patty at a sufficiently hot and ashy spot
• Completion Requirement Location: Approach the first locked door and use Grapple Tail to swing to the platform to your left. Swing to the next platform, jump into the hole in the wall, and descend the stairs.
• Reward: 2 Tokens

Once you receive the A Bit of Curd and Pepper main job, talk to John inside the Little & Big bar (P.I. Office area) to start the Azurro Burgerro side job and locate the hot and ashy spot.

Climb the entry staircase in the Opera Ruins, and stop when you reach the locked door. Turn left and use Grapple Tail to swing to a platform. Swing to the next platform and jump through the hole in the wall. Climb down the stairs, fry John’s patty on the pile of bones, and return to John to earn two Tokens.

Side Job #5 Fishy Business

• Main Job: Saltwater Cambozo
• Location: Wallop Bay
• Start Location: John Brown (P.I. Office – Inside Little & Big)
• Completion Requirement: Collect canned herring (Marina 8-ED Canned Herring)
• Completion Requirement Location: After destroying the water tower, follow the main path and drop into a chasm.
• Reward: 1 Token

After receiving the Saltwater Cambozo main job, talk to John inside the Little & Big bar (P.I. Office area) to start Fishy Business.

When you destroy the water tower, follow the main path to pass through a gate to the right of a large anchor. Pass through the building and fall into the chasm that you must jump across to complete the Fishy Business side job and find the canned herring. Take the item back to John to earn one Token.

Side Job #6 Imported Goods

• Main Job: Saltwater Cambozo
• Location: Wallop Bay
• Start Location: Cornelius Stilton (P.I. Office – Inside Little & Big)
• Completion Requirement: Collect Stilton’s merchandise (Herbal Cheese Sticks)
• Completion Requirement Location: After Cameron Bozo, follow the path, drop into the enemy-filled area, and tailpick the door in the northeast corner.
• Reward: 400 Coins

After receiving the Saltwater Cambozo main job, talk to Cornelius inside the Little & Big bar (P.I. Office area) to start Imported Goods.

Once you get the Pharmacy Key from Cameron Bozo, follow the path, drop into the area with the hot pepper, and defeat the enemies. Break the crates that are blocking the door to the building in the northeast corner and tailpick the lock. Go inside to recover Stilton’s merchandise and complete the Imported Goods side job. Return to Cornelius to earn 400 coins.

Side Job #7 Perfect Bog Fondue

• Main Job: Damp Evidence
• Location: Far Wetlands
• Start Location: John Brown (P.I. Office – Inside Little & Big)
• Completion Requirement Item: Collect three things and exchange for John’s recipe.
• Thingie #1 Location: Second mine area, jump to the path that is down and to the left when you enter.
• Thingie #2 Location: Mansion dining room, on cheese wheel stack.
• Thingie #3 Location: Swamp area, near wrecked ship smokestacks.
• Reward: 2 Tokens

Once you receive the Damp Evidence main job, talk to John inside the Little & Big bar (P.I. Office area) to start the Perfect Bog Fondue side job and locate all three thingies.

Talk to the Old Cheeslegger in the shack past the first mine area and start looking for the three thingies. Jump to the path that is down and to the left when you enter the next mine area to find the first thingie. Grab the second thingie from a stack of cheese wheels in the mansion’s dining room. Look for the third thingie under the pallet leaning against the smokestacks of the wrecked ship in the swamp area. Give the thingies to the Old Cheeslegger near the exit pier, and take the recipe back to John to get two Tokens.

Side Job #8 Oh Yes They Float

• Main Job: It All Points Here, Right?
• Location: Secret Show
• Start Location: Millie Curd (P.I. Office – Outside Little & Big)
• Completion Requirement: Collect balloon packs (Pack of Deflated Balloons)
• Completion Requirement Location: High Noon Theme Park area (stall in the southeast corner)
• Reward: Jeremiah Curd Baseball Card

Once you receive the It All Points Here, Right? main job, talk to Millie outside the Little & Big bar (P.I. Office area) to start Oh Yes They Float.

Reach the High Noon Theme Park, the area past the door that is opened with four tickets. After defeating the enemies in the area, go to the stall in the southeast corner to find the Pack of Deflated Balloons. Take it back to Millie to complete the Oh Yes They Float side job and to earn the Jeremiah Curd Baseball Card.

Side Job #9 Between Alpha and Omega

• Main Job: To Catch a Mockingmouse
• Location: River Fever Line
• Start Location: BMP Yes-Man (River Fever Line – Cigar Room II)
• Completion Requirement: Takes pictures of the unfaithful wife (“Infidelity”)
• Completion Requirement Location: Deck I
• Reward: 50 Coins

Start the Between Alpha and Omega side job by talking to the BMP Yes-Man in Cigar Room II on the River Fever Line, which you will enter through a vent in Cabin IV (Deck II), during To Catch a Mockingmouse.

Exit the Cigar Room, descend two flights of stairs to reach Deck I, and look in the second window on your right to continue the Between Alpha and Omega side job and locate the unfaithful wife. Return to the BMP Yes-Man to earn 50 coins.

Side Job #10 Mouseburg Confidential

• Main Job: To Catch a Mockingmouse
• Location: River Fever Line
• Start Location: Undercover Agent (River Fever Line – Deck II)
• Completion Requirement: Take pictures of suspicious BMP members (“BMP Top Brass”)
• Completion Requirement Location: Deck III (area with band)
• Reward: 2 Coins

Speak with the Undercover Agent to begin the Mouseburg Confidential side job and find the suspicious BMP members. He is on Deck II of the River Fever Line during To Catch a Mockingmouse.

Climb the stairs south of the NPC to reach Deck III. Climb the stairs at the top to enter the area with the band and look left to find the suspicious BMP members in the corner. Return to the Undercover Agent to earn two coins.

Side Job #11 Poster Girl

• Main Job: “The Bookeeper” By Tinsel Bros
• Location: Western Backlot
• Start Location: Tammy Tumbler (P.I. Office)
• Completion Requirement: Take poster (“Triumph of Willie” movie poster)
• Completion Requirement: Along the stairs just past the Extra with the hat, glasses, and trench coat.
• Reward: 3 Schematics

After receiving “The Bookeeper” By Tinsel Bros main job, talk to Tammy in Tammy’s Bearings (P.I. Office area) to begin the Poster Girl side job and find the poster.

Pass through the section with no floor where you must use Tail-a-Choppa and Grappling Tail. Follow the main path to find an Extra wearing a hat, glasses, and trench coat. The poster is on the brick wall next to the stairs just past that NPC. Return it to Tammy to earn three Schematics.

Side Job #12 Behind the Nuts

• Main Job: One Flew
• Location: Curdsville Nuthouse
• Start Location: Tammy Tumbler (P.I. Office – Tammy’s Bearings)
• Completion Requirement: Take pictures of Gloria (“Straightjacket Superstar”)
• Completion Requirement Location: After getting the Jar-Head gun, cross the bridge past Millie and press C-A-G-E on the piano to the left. Cross the bridge that lowers and go right.
• Reward: 3 Schematics

After receiving the One Flew main job, talk to Tammy in Tammy’s Bearings (P.I. Office area) to start Behind the Nuts.

There is a letter on top of a stack of papers in the room with the Jar-Head gun that depicts the musical notes C-A-G-E. Follow the main path until you find Millie, cross the bridge behind her, and press the C-A-G-E piano keys to the left to progress through Behind the Nuts and locate Gloria across the bridge that descends. Return to Tammy to earn three Schematics.

Side Job #13 Friends in Deep Places

• Main Job: Glugging from the Deep
• Location: Fart Harbor
• Start Location: Cameron Bozo (P.I. Office – Outside Little & Big)
• Completion Requirement: Talk to Sleeps with the Fishes
• Completion Requirement Location: Pass through the shipping container during the underwater section, climb the ladder on your right, and follow the path to the NPC.
• Reward: Jacob “Cheesehead” McQueen Baseball Card

After receiving the Glugging from the Deep main job, talk to Cameron outside the Little & Big bar (P.I. Office area) to start Friends in Deep Places.

Put together the full diving suit and enter the underwater section. You are now instructed to poke around the basin. Follow the main path until you pass through a shipping container and use the ladder on your right to reach another path. Continue forward to locate Sleeps with the Fishes and complete the Friends in Deep Places side job. Return to Cameron to earn the Jacob “Cheesehead” McQueen Baseball Card.

Side Job #14 Slugs in the Shell

• Main Job: Glugging from the Deep
• Location: Fart Harbor
• Start Location: John Brown (P.I. Office – Inside Little & Big)
• Completion Requirement: Collect canned sea slugs (Can of Sea Slugs)
• Completion Requirement Location: Pass through the gate to reach the first outdoor area in Fart Harbor and enter the shipping container that is forward and to your left.
• Reward: 1 Token

After exiting the first building in Fart Harbor, defeat the enemies in the alley and pass through the gate at the far end. Go forward and to the left to find a shipping container. Search the container to collect the canned sea slugs and complete the Slugs in the Shell side job. Return to John to earn one Token.
