Expedition 33 wins all five major GOTY awards.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 already holds the record for the most awarded game in industry history, with a total of nearly 500 awards, but yesterday's BAFTA win marks another landmark achievement for developer Sandfall Interactive.

As Kotaku notes, safely securing best game, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is now only the second game to win all five major GOTY awards.

  • Golden Joystick Awards

  • The Game Awards

  • dice award

  • GDC Awards

  • BAFTA Games Awards

Only Baldur's Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 currently hold the record.

The only game in history to sweep all of the same awards is Baldur's Gate 3. Jennifer English also stars in the lead role and last night took home the award for Best Leading Actress. Considering she starred in the award-winning Elden Ring just a few years ago, which set the record as the most awarded game before Clair Obscur took the crown, she might just be the industry's good luck charm.

Elden Ring won GOTY at The Game Awards, Golden Joystick Awards, GDC Awards, and DICE Awards, but lost to Vampire Survivors at the BAFTAs.

Clair Obscur: In addition to Best Leading Role and Best Game, Expedition 33 won Best Debut Game at the BAFTA Game Awards 2026, beating Blue Prince, Consume Me, Despelote, Dispatch and The Midnight Walk, and continues its “completely unexpected” record-breaking run with developers Sandfall Interactive receiving a knighthood in their native France.
