Netflix just provided an update on the next installment of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run. After a well-received first episode, Netflix left JoJo fans in the dark about what the second episode or second phase of Steel Ball Run would be like. Now we know that the streaming platform is planning to release the next episode in the fall of 2026, with the next episode scheduled to be released weekly.
After a great first episode, fans were met with radio silence as no new episodes aired the following week. There was no update from Netflix either, so fans got annoyed and spammed the streamer's social media posts with creepy Johnny Joestar memes. The series release schedule is finally clear.
Steel Ball Run Phase 2 will be released in Fall 2026
In a recently posted tweet, Netflix revealed that the series will be switching to a regular weekly episode format rather than longer-spaced episodes. It's clear fans weren't happy with the previous formula, and it's good to see that Netflix will be moving to a regular format after the backlash.
“Thank you for all the amazing support of STEEL BALL RUN JoJo's Bizarre Adventure,” he tweeted. “The series is currently in production and everyone can enjoy it. We plan to release full episodes in installments. 2nd STAGE will begin streaming on Netflix in the fall of 2026, with new episodes released every week.
“This release schedule is part of our original plan and reflects the wishes of the production committee. Your passion and enthusiasm means a lot to everyone involved in the preparations. We thank you for your patience and continued support as we prepare for the 2nd STAGE.”
It's still unclear whether this is the plan for the rest of the series or just the second phase. Fans weren't too receptive to this update either, as the comments were filled with more Johnny Joestar memes and questions about the rest of the series. Netflix also appears to be uncertain about the subsequent release schedule.
