After Asura and Indra became rivals, the Uchiha and mainly the Senju inherited this rivalry. It is implied in the story that the Uzumaki most likely hold a grudge against the Uchiha, but that they would generally not be involved in violent conflicts (especially considering that they live far away from Uzushiogakure). So while the Senju would constantly fight the Uchiha, the Uzumaki would often stay in the background. This culminated in the Senju and Uchiha clans fighting each other for centuries like their ancestors, with both clans emerging as the most powerful forces in the shinobi world. This is probably because they were constantly at war with each other.
Senju rule still causes discord with the Uchiha clan
At the end of the Warring States Period, the Uchiha and Senju clans put aside their hostility and founded Konohagakure. However, the following events created more tension between the clans. To the Uchiha clan, it felt more like surrender than a truce. Hashirama Senju attempted to appoint Madara Uchiha as the first Hokage, but Tobirama Senju was skeptical, and the Hokage convinced Hashirama that the people should choose. In the end, Hashirama was chosen as Hokage because many villagers were wary of Madara.
This again caused conflict between the clans, but it did not lead to a “war” between them, although Madara eventually attempted to attack the village with the Nine Tails. Does the Senju clan still exist in Boruto?
