saros It's near the top of my must-play list this year. We're now just over a month away from the game's release, and I'm really curious to see what Housemarque comes up with next. saros I think it's getting stuck returnWe've modified the formula and improved it with some interesting tweaks. The biggest difference between the two is saros You can actually reach a wider audience. A few gameplay changes may disappoint you. return Fans, though, I don't really care for the more generous progression system and main character Arjun's resurrection mechanic.
return It's probably one of my favorite stories in gaming. The way it uses roguelike elements to delve into Selene's psyche and tell a story trapped in a cycle of trauma isn't just great writing. This is a great way to demonstrate how gameplay mechanics are important storytelling tools. saros'The story has high expectations to live up to, but Housemarque will give players something compelling and emotionally deep. returnWhen I started playing the game, the first thing that caught my attention was its narrative, but after about 150 hours of playing the game, there are two main gameplay features that leave me wanting. saros Nails feel better or improved. Use haptic feedback and build variety.
The Returnal remains one of the best showcases of the DualSense's haptic feedback capabilities.
This year marks six years since the PS5 was first released, but it seems like many developers still haven't fully embraced the DualSense's capabilities. Of course, this is partly due to the abundance of cross-gen games over the past few years, but it seems like the PS5 is finally making progress.
Developers are finally making progress on the last generation of consoles, and that means making better use of the DualSense's haptic feedback. Latest PS5 Exclusives Astrobot, death stranding 2and Ghost of Yotei I made good use of the controller's functions, but return It was truly ahead of its time. both return and Ratchet and Clank: Lift Apart Released in 2021, both products remain one of the best demonstrations of how versatile the DualSense is as an immersive tool.

Saros took the opportunity to show more of what the DualSense can do
return It feels like your hands are experiencing their own version of surround sound, and five years later it's still impressive. Housemarque now has development experience. returnYears of work with haptic feedback sarosThis means the game will feature much better DualSense controls. saros' This is already clear from the identified features. return's bullet hell gameplay and use of roguelike staples as storytelling tools is being used again, so hopefully the haptic feedback will be handled in a similar, and much better way.
How Returning makes haptic feedback part of the experience
-
Raindrops are felt as small vibrations.

Different floor textures create different feels.

Returnal could use more build diversity, and Saros can finally make it happen.
return It makes perfect use of many of the roguelike elements, but I think it would have benefited more from greater build variety in each run. Execution variety isn't really a part of it. returnand saros I think this is being considered. saros We are making significant changes to our methods. return Approaching death. The latter was very difficult, as Selene would lose most of her upgrades after death. As for Arjun, Housemarque seems to be more generous this time around, but hopefully not too much. tagline for saros Prior to its release, it was “Come Back Stronger.” This is played directly. saros'There's a persistent progression system, and I'm really curious to see how different this makes the game feel than before. return.
Death is fundamentally more about growth than starting from scratch. sarosThis could potentially be really helpful for your build system. Of course, traditional roguelikes are all about starting from a blank slate. saros' A rogue-lite, static approach may require more systematic consideration of which upgrades to choose. You also have the option to choose Arjun's loadout before each run, so this alone gives you more build flexibility than you already have. return.
How Saros' progression system differs from Returnal's progression system
-
You can adjust the difficulty using the Carcosan modifier.
-
The second chance mechanic allows for instant resurrection instead of death.
-
An eclipse can be triggered that affects enemies, weapons, and armor.
There is still time to check the returns before Saros gets here.
Funny enough, saros It will be released on returnThe former was originally scheduled for release this month, so it's either a fun coincidence or an exciting sign for Housemarque to push it back to that date. saros The game is destined to be as strong as the game itself. return It was. I think Housemarque's work is better because it deserves to reach a wider audience. return It was by no means a financial failure, but it certainly didn't reach the player numbers it should have had. return was one of the first original PS5 exclusives, and it's surprising that this fact alone didn't create more hype.
saros But it's likely to be a different story. Securing a AAA title seems rare in April. saros' please. return It's not just underrated in terms of story and gameplay. It's an underrated gem, as it's still a great showcase of the PS5's DualSense features, which should have been surpassed by now. This game still doesn't get the praise it deserves in that respect. saros We hope to open up opportunities for more gamers to experience great gameplay, storytelling, and well-crafted immersion.
