Soup (1 Fresh Water + 2 Vegetables) strengthens the water gun until PP is used. Other foods promote movement.
Pokopia players must manage the environment to craft items, unlock new habitats, and discover Pokémon around the world. Much of the game revolves around restoring nature and interacting with the terrain using Pokémon-inspired abilities. Because the player controls Ditto, the creature's ability to mimic the Pokémon's movements becomes a key mechanic. Using the right moves at the right time can dramatically speed up tasks in Pokopia's environment. For example, the Water Gun move is especially useful for wetting dry land and watering plants, which are needed to grow resources and restore certain areas. You can even temporarily power up your water gun to cover a much larger area, making environmental work much faster.

How to Upgrade a Water Gun in Pokemon Pokopia
One of the easiest ways to power up your squirt is by eating soup. Food plays an important role in Pokopia, as cooked meals replenish PP and temporarily increase the power of Ditto's movements. These buffs allow players to complete tasks more efficiently or access areas that would otherwise take a much longer time to manage. However, before players can take advantage of these benefits, they must first meet a key character named Chef Dente and unlock the cooking system.
Once the player reaches the Rocky Ridges region, Chef Dente is naturally introduced as part of the main story. While exploring this area, players will encounter Chef Dente, who is trapped inside a barrel. Freeing them will trigger a short interaction that unlocks the game's cooking feature. After being rescued, Chef Dente explains how to prepare various meals using various cooking tools and ingredients available around Pocopia. This moment serves as an important progression point as it provides a variety of food-based buffs that make exploration and crafting much easier.
To start cooking soup, you first need to get a cooking pot. In some plays, the Cooking Pot recipe will appear in the PC Store, allowing players to craft it themselves once they have the ingredients. But you're also guaranteed to find some cooking pots while exploring the Rocky Ridges. Inside the cave where magma was previously discovered, players can breach the door and collect yellow Poké Balls containing items. Picking it up saves time and allows the player to start cooking the soup right away.
If players decide to make their own cooking pot instead, they will need 2 Copper Ingots. Creating these ingots requires some preparation. Players must collect copper ore and place it in a smelting furnace. Once the furnace is loaded, Fire-type Pokémon, such as Magma, must ignite the furnace to begin the smelting process. It takes some time for the ingots to come out of the furnace, so it's a good idea to gather other cooking ingredients while you wait. The soup itself requires only a few simple ingredients. Players will need:
-
a bottle of fresh water
-
2 vegetables of any type
Fresh water can be conveniently purchased from the PC Store if it is not already in the player's inventory. Vegetables, on the other hand, are commonly found when exploring habitats or harvesting plants grown using water guns.

Once the cooking pot is ready, it must be placed on a heat source before use. Can be used on both stovetop or campfire. After putting the ingredients in a pot and boiling the soup, Ditto can eat it to gain a temporary buff. When the effect is activated, the PP for the water gun turns gold, indicating that the movement has been strengthened. During this time, the Water Gun covers a larger area, making it much easier to water crops and restore land. This makes cooking a useful strategy for speeding up environmental restoration efforts.
The buff lasts until the boosted PP is fully used, but players can restore the effect whenever needed by eating more soup.
Soup isn't the only meal that improves movement. Different foods provide buffs to various abilities. Bread enhances the cut motion, and Hamburger Steak enhances the Rock Smash. These enhancements allow players to clear obstacles, reach new areas, and complete otherwise impossible requests. Learning how different meals affect Ditto's movements is key to getting the most out of Pokopia's cooking system and exploring all that the world has to offer.
