Mega Man Legends Collection is not currently planned by Capcom

Mega Man Legends Collection now feels like the obvious next step, given that Capcom's upcoming Mega Man Star Force Collection will round out the revisitation of almost every game the massive franchise has ever released. There are definitely only legends left. series Under the name of the most important Mega Man who has yet to receive treatment.

But Legends has always been in a somewhat precarious position. A third game was scheduled to continue. In fact, the excellent second title set it up very well. Infamously, it never materialized. Fans have been clamoring for a virtual Mega Man Legends 3 for nearly 15 years. This leaves the three-game series (there's a spinoff starring anti-hero Tron Bonne) in a kind of limbo that none of the brothers suffer from.

Nevertheless, will we be able to return to Volnutt and his friends in good time? maybe.

The hard-working staff at the RPG site (we have a name!) had a chance to catch up with Director Koji Oda and Producer Shingo Izumi of the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection. Of course, the conversation is mainly focused on the improved all-in-one for the Battle Network sequel series, which launches on March 27th. Some of the changes included the excellent ability to view meeting footage using MegaMan.EXE, a feature many players missed because it required the Battle Network cartridge to be plugged into the DS while Star Force was playing in the DS slot. It doesn't work here.

I feel this.

Be sure to read the full interview. Click the RPG site! But I will avoid burying any more lead here. The last question pointed out that Capcom will soon be offering the Classic, X, Zero, ZX, Battle Network, and Star Force collections. Simply put, I have no series left other than Legends itself.

“There are currently no plans to do so. However, as I mentioned in my preliminary response, when considering new collection projects in the future, Mega Man Legends Collection will also be one of the possible candidates.” -Azumi Report

There's a certain honesty in Azumi's immediate admission that there are currently no plans. That means, if we are to completely trust his word, there were no unforeseen background developments in it. In talking about “new collection projects,” Azumi could also be speaking more broadly within Capcom's vast library. However, he could just as easily be referencing the Mega Man franchise directly. At some point, the only real competitor will be some sort of “Mega Man: The Rest” with both one-offs and strange ports.

So far, sales of these relaunches have seemed pretty stable. Battle Network in particular has graced the charts, which is good news for Star Force's potential market penetration. If it passes muster, Legends will probably be on its way soon.

All eyes are currently on Mega Man: Dual Override. The company probably did the right thing by not titling it “Mega Man 12” instead. There are few ways to attract a younger audience's attention than making them think they have to play the previous installment first, and as Square Enix has long observed with Final Fantasy, marketing against each game doesn't seem to pass through everyone's brain. Is it just the same? It's totally Mega Man 12.

At the same time, Slay The Spire 2 completely baked bungee on Twitter after passing the marathon.
