When you start Resident Evil Requiem playing as Grace, you'll quickly realize how limited your resources are. This is to be expected from survival horror, as it tests both survival and horror aspects. Surviving with few resources is part of what makes Grace's sections so tense, but that doesn't mean you have nothing at your disposal.
Ammunition is certainly limited, but it's not the only thing you can use when searching a house. You have access to craftable items to help you conserve ammo, and these options can help you avoid running out of ammo when you really need it.
Stealth as possible
It might seem pretty obvious, but a big aspect of playing as Grace is traversing each area stealthily. Take the time to learn the patterns and directions of each infected person in the area and use this to avoid them.
In some sections it's as easy as just getting past the slow Infected, while in others you'll have to time your movements based on the Infected's movements. At least this will give you enough ammo to take out larger, deadlier infected.
Resident Evil Requiem: Every Mister Raccoon Tribute
Here's where you can find all of the Mr. Raccoon statues in Resident Evil: Requiem.
Prioritize headshots
When trying to destroy the infected, focus on their heads or legs instead of shooting them wildly. This pivotal point will help you take down enemies, allowing you to easily headshot them while they are on the ground, allowing you to deal more damage and take them out faster.
Certain landing shots can help you defeat the infected more easily while using less ammo. Additionally, once this critical point is reached, it is more likely that infected people will leave behind blood that can be collected.
Wait until the crosshair shrinks to a single point while you train to deal more damage to your enemies.
Avoid killing all enemies
It's not obvious at the beginning of the game, but avoiding killing everything is not only useful for conserving ammo, but it's worth it if you need to turn back as you progress through the game.
This doesn't necessarily mean stealth, as you can easily avoid several infected simply by walking past them. As the game progresses, killing everything will end up being a waste of ammo.
Keep your melee weapon close by
Makeshift weapons and hunting weapons are great because they have multiple uses. Not only can you use this to slash enemies and save ammo, but if you get hit, you can gut it into an enemy to help them readjust before shooting.
Helping prevent ammo from being used up, makeshift weapons not only help you perform melee attacks, but when their durability runs out, they can be crafted from scrap metal and used to make more ammo.
GET MORE GUNS
The more gun options you have, the more ammo you have available. Bag space is limited, but the more guns you have, the more ammo you have. If you run out of one, you'll have other ammo ready.
You'll start with B934, which is the easiest pistol ammo to find, but eventually you'll discover the more powerful S&S M232, which can do more damage. You'll obtain Requiem quickly, but you'll start with only one bullet. Fortunately, you can create more works.
Upgrade your weapon efficiency
Another way to save ammo is to craft and use stabilizers. This permanently increases your firepower and stability, ideally allowing you to deal more damage and require less ammo to defeat enemies.
You'll find some as you play the game, but eventually you'll also get crafting options. Once you use it, it becomes slightly easier to catch enemies, and the increased stability means you miss fewer shots and lose less ammo.
Don't waste your ammo on bigger enemies
A huge waste of ammo is throwing bullets at the huge stalking enemies you'll find in the game. It takes so much ammo to take them down in the first place, so make sure you don't waste a ton of ammo trying to do so.
The best course of action is to use the Dragon Blood Syringe, run away, or use the powerful Requiem to take them out once and for all.
Make your enemies attack each other
If you can manage it, it actually comes with an achievement/trophy. Depending on how you do this, you won't have to waste precious resources, but it may result in infected people turning on each other.
One interaction that is easy to complete is triggered by the sound of an infected person who doesn't like sounds throwing an empty bottle at another infected person. This causes him to go after the target he thinks is making the noise. There are several infected people who may be forced to harm others in this way.
Use of hemolysis syringe
These injectors are a quick lifesaver that will help you quickly take out any infected that get in your way while conserving ammo. One injection of this will shatter a normal zombie into pieces.
Using one of these to move around stealthily while injecting zombies in the back is the best way to save ammo and dispatch enemies quickly. Using this on larger enemies also eliminates the need to discard ammo.
Destroy multiple enemies at once with Requiem
The Requiem Gun is powerful enough to blast multiple enemies at once. The best way to save ammo is to kill multiple infected with one bullet.
If you can line it up properly in a hallway or doorway, it will take one bullet to destroy several in one shot. This will save you valuable Requiem ammo and will also allow you to destroy the more difficult infected that consume too much pistol ammo.
