Rockstar Games and PlayStation appear to have deleted Grand Theft Auto 6's PS Store ID just days after it was revealed, and hackers were using it to pretend to play the game.
The past few months may have been incredibly quiet on GTA 6 news, with all but Take-Two confirming a November release date for the millionth time, but things got a little more exciting over the weekend. Reliable data analyst PlayStationSize has discovered that GTA 6's title ID has been added to the PlayStation Store backend, which suggests that the news may be flowing in.
This hasn't stopped everyone from speculating that a big announcement is in the works, even though Rockstar and PlayStation are most likely just around the corner for the summer. True or not, Rockstar has already responded to the leak and started tearing it down, ruining the fun for some hackers in the process.

As highlighted by Twitter user videotechuk_ and originally pointed out by yAmethxst, Rockstar and PlayStation recently removed the title ID linked to GTA 6 from the PS Store. There's no telling if this means things will change before launch or not, but it shows that Rockstar is well aware of what's going on.
As Rockstar is well aware of all sorts of GTA 6 leaks, the main reason it appears to have killed the title ID is because hackers used it to add the game to their accounts and make it look like they played the game before anyone else, including yAmethxst. Although generally harmless, some people may think that GTA 6 is out in the wild.
Interestingly, the hackers were also able to make GTA 6 appear on the PS4's account page. GTA 6 entirely It's a bit of a mystery how it ended up on PS4, as it doesn't come out on PS4.
If hackers were able to add GTA 6 to their accounts this easily, it's unclear whether they would have been able to find additional information about the game by its title ID. With that in mind, it's no surprise that Rockstar has urged PlayStation to drop its ID and leave us with one less GTA 6 news in the process.
